POV: Millie Han comes in through the back door and finds me sitting at the kitchen table with newspapers spread everywhere. He looks over my shoulder and makes a noise that sounds both impressed and amused. His mouth twitches into an almost-smile, but he doesn't say anything. Instead, he walks to the pantry and comes back with more recent local papers, dropping them on the table next to mine. It feels like he gets what I'm doing without me having to explain. Then he turns on the basement lights and follows me downstairs without me even asking. We start repacking the dishes together, replacing the old newspapers with new ones.
