Chapter seven: Destiny has chosen her!

Ezekiel POV

She blushes when I compliment her hair. I have the urge to reach out and touch her face and feel the warmth build in her cheeks. “Thank you, my baby calls them Princess's hair. Or “pwinse ha” since he still has a baby voice. He's almost two. It's a lot more common in the neighborhoods we are from, being here makes it feel more special.” At that moment I felt as if someone had snatched my heart from my chest.

-she is in a relationship, she has a child. Our mate is taken. We have met her too late.

It feels as if I've been dealt a devastating blow. I am heartbroken. I don't think I ever really understood how accurate that statement feels. My heart feels broken in shards and it's as if it tries to beat the shards continually stab at my chest. “Please don't look that way. I'm very happy as I am. It's just me and my son but he is all I need. In some situations, it's better to be alone than to be with someone who can do more harm than good. But please have a seat and let's discuss happier things like David's schooling.”

-wait did she say that she is unattached? I think to myself. I thank the goddess I'm a wolf I don't think it's good for a heart to be elated, then devastated, then relieved, and then hopefull in mere minutes.

-J-she said she has been harmed! Who dares to have harmed our mate! Joel growls.

-E-Calm down! She has a child, this makes everything a lot more complicated, unlike the probable human who can be dealt with easily. For now, we get through this conference and find a way to remain in contact with her and then we speak to the Alfa.

We take a seat in chairs she provides. I half-listen to what she is saying. “David is a great student...-E-Father will not like that she is human, even less the fact that she has a child-... He is very smart…-J- She is our true mate! Destiny has chosen her to be our Luna. He must accept this is what the moon goddess has decided.-...He gets along well with the other students… -E- father is close to retirement but I do not think he will accept making me alfa with a human mother whether or not the moon goddess has decided. And she can turned.-...no cause for concern… -E- I want her too. I don't know if I could handle watching her go through the pain of the transformation. I weep at the thought of causing her any sort of misery. Besides, even if she is accepted by Father there is also the matter of if she will accept us. She does not feel the bond as we do.-... you should be very proud.” She begins to show me a bunch of David’s work, of course, all of which is excellent. “It seems that he excels at everything… -J- She feels it. Her smile is radiant and warms me like the sun.

I look at her and can’t imagine continuing to live without her. After waiting so long and having finally found her, how could I let her go?
