Dominico’s POV I paced around the office, my fingers drumming against the edge of the desk. The room was dimly lit by the moon filtering through the window, and I had been working for hours. It was past ten o’clock, long past dinner time. My stomach twisted with a mix of hunger and tension. Nyx had been on my mind, even as I tried to drown myself in paperwork, but I hadn’t gone to check on her yet. She needed space. I needed space. There was no way I could handle being in the same room with her after what happened earlier. The kiss, the heat, the anger—it was all too much. I wasn’t ready to face her again. Not yet. Still, I couldn’t shake the worry. I glanced at the maid passing by and called out to her. “Has Nyx had dinner?” I asked, my voice coming out more gruff than I intended.
