Dominico’s POV: She looked up at me, her eyes wide with terror. “They… they were going to…” “I know,” I said softly. “But they’re gone now. They can’t hurt you.” Rowan shifted back as well, pulling out a blanket from the pack he had strapped to his back. He draped it over the girl, who clutched it tightly, her sobs quieting. “We need to get her back to the estate,” Rowan said, his voice grim. “She’s in shock.” I nodded, my gaze lingering on the bodies of the rogues. They had been desperate—driven by hunger, perhaps, or madness. But that didn’t excuse what they had done. We carried the girl back to the pack lands, where she would be taken care of. The estate had medics and caretakers who would make sure she was safe, who would help her heal. But as we walked, my mind was elsewhere. T
