4 The Company Party Meredith FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS we all worked around the clock. The Captain and I had our day jobs. Sukey was on her school holidays. She helped out in the house and in the stables. Probate was approved during the first week and so we had a clear run to sell Mike’s house and start work on the new stable yard. I was supposed to be studying as my finals are due in July but the temptation to leave everything till the last minute and cram was too strong. It was much more interesting to be hands on with the new project than stuck away on my own learning about financial investment theory and taxation.
