SAYING GOODBYE to Beatrice and Rodney is upsetting in the circumstances. Everyone’s dreams have fallen through and in the most frightening way. Mike’s parents are not coping well with the idea that the police could be after their remaining son. They are simply too old for such shocks especially so soon after the death of his twin.
Clara and Kate have already travelled back to London by train. Mike took them to the station last night. They didn’t say so but I’m sure they’ll be feeling schadenfreude over the situation, both not wanting me to marry the man they think is Raphael. They’ll be pleased the wedding was called off. They both hope I will make a break at some point from the man they think is the Captain. Marriage would only have made that more difficult.
