MIKE AND I WERE MARRIED down in Cornwall in September, a little later than planned but before our baby was born. Clara gave me away. Kate and Sukey were the most beautiful bridesmaids in the world.
Our baby was a boy, and we called him Arthur. Tony was godfather and Kate godmother. It wasn’t long before Arthur had two sisters – twins, of course – Kerra and Jenifer. All good Cornish names, much to Mike’s father’s delight. The old Commodore has changed from a grumpy old man into a loving grandfather who adores having his grandchildren to stay. Beatrice couldn’t be happier. Kate and Clara are godmothers.
Goldie and Bijou lived long happy lives to be succeeded by other equally beloved dogs.
