To my Parents

394 Words
To my Parents In the arms of two sunflowers, I was born. Opened my eyes and looked around, vast fields of corn. Never understood how the sunflowers stood in the middle, It was but a pure riddle, A hand of God is somewhere that defined, The beauty of the sunflowers as they appear entwined. The fields of corn would scare me during the nights, But the sunflowers stayed awake during my fright, Holding me in their arms, Caressing me with their love and warmth. I slept with a smile in the end gracefully, I failed to notice the tears in their eyes, With a strength to hold me for ever and eternity. What did I do to deserve them in my life? A gift I call from God, Which I want to hold on with all my might. Never ever have I seen such flowers before, Who give all they have and still they give, The love, the cover, the shade and more. They have defined me as who I am. They have made me with what I am. They have created the how I am. From the arms of two sunflowers, the fields I crossed. Went through the world and place, whose names I lost. But when I turn to look back, I still can see. The two sunflowers were still waving at me. Even the distance is far and merely the eye can see, They still are visible to me. A step away from where I stand, Always there to hold my hand. They give me strength to go on in life, No matter what I go through, I see them next to me ready to fight. They are my pillars of a life I live, How in the world to them, can I ever give? What they gave me all through these years. Never can I and never I will be able. But all they say, Is love us back and don’t dismay? Learn from us and don’t forget to convey, The sunflowers are just there to give all away. I try to learn and someday be, A sunflower to someone, What they have been to me. Wonder I for sure can I ever be? As they have been to me? But then I feel the power in my heart That they will always be there with me, when I start.
