The Conspiracy Fate

During the whole class the exchange of glances between us was visibly noticed by everyone, and as it was already Friday, the teacher announces an assignment to be done in pairs, but there was only one detail… The assignment was to be done by drawing lots, it was my turn to draw my partner and, to my surprise, after taking the folded paper from inside the box and reading the name of my partner, it was not other way. Serious, as always, I'm sure my cheeks turned red, but even so I couldn't hide my smile and satisfaction when I said:

— My partner is none other than you, Eduardo.

EDUARDO

Also surprised, I couldn't contain myself and ended up shouting:

— Really? Are you serious?

I got up from my seat, practically running to the front, just to see the paper in Gabriella's hands and confirm, with my own eyes, what she had said.

— Look at this, everybody! Edu is in love, people! — Taking advantage of the teacher's absence, Diego shouted and then burst out laughing.

Nicole wanted to distill her venom, showing that, in reality, she didn't like the idea of a possible romance between me and Gaby, she spoke ironically, with a debauched face:

— There's a taste for everything in life, isn't there, Edu.

I noticed that Gaby was totally embarrassed by the whole situation, she became more and more embarrassed with the jokes, jokes that were going beyond limits, when the teacher returned, to my relief, he put order in the mess, only then did the jokes end, because he ordered everyone to go to their seats.

GABRIELLA

Thank God, the teacher arrived just in time before I collapsed, I was already turning red after those idiots took me out of my mind. With the arrival of the teacher I went to my seat and Edu to his. As soon as I sat down I felt something falling on me, it was Edu with one of those notes, this time I look at him and see a different glow in his eyes, but I was with a tight heart because I realized that I am losing control of my feelings. I have no way to escape this passion, definitely it is stronger than me. Facing the latest events, I made an instant decision: I like him, that's a fact, I have liked this playboy since the first day I saw him, I will not give the pleasure of upsetting my mind to these assholes anymore, so the first step to be taken is to thoroughly ignore these idiots; the second step is to give Eduardo an opportunity to know what love is. After all, I was almost sexually abused by someone I feel nothing for, I deserve to be happy, no more running away! I opened the most beautiful smile he had ever seen, I lowered myself to the ground picking up the note, then I put my hands over my face, staring at him.

— You're crazy! — I said, admiring every expression on his smile when he saw that he had read what was written on the note, which went like this:

Then I acted in a way that was unexpected for him, I took a pen and paper answering the note and throwing it quickly to the other side, he, in turn, bent down taking my answer and opening it with that most and beautiful look in the world. On my note, it was written:

The break time came and everyone was leaving the room, Nicole was already at the door, she gave a brief pause, turning around and observing that we were left behind. Then she walked back to Eduardo's desk, taking his hand as she gave me a look and said in a loud voice:

— Come, Edu, let's go, what are you waiting for?

Meanwhile, noticing Nicole's provocations, I closed my face, grabbed my book and went to the Patio.

EDUARDO

— Hahaha, no! This time you won't be able to make her get away from me again — I said distressed, even because, even being friends, I can't stand the ironies anymore. Seeing that Gabriella was leaving, I stood up quickly, asking Nicole to excuse me, leaving her purple with hate, I left slightly, fast calling Gabriella. I held tight one of her hands.

— What's this, cute smug, have you forgotten our date?

— I haven't, Mr. Eduardo! I just didn't wait for you because I saw you were busy, and our meeting is on the way out after class, isn't it?

GABRIELLA

The moment I felt Eduardo's warm hand glued to mine I even thought of letting go, but the look on Nicole's face made me confident in Edu's intentions towards me, so I decided to hold his hand even tighter, just to go against those horny girls. Smiling at Eduardo's grace, I decided to lean my forehead against his chest, then we walked together to the patio and when we arrived, I let go, but when I realized that I was escaping, he pulled me against his chest, hugging me tightly between laughs.

— Come here, my cute smuggie, like I said, you won't escape me anymore.

I look up at his eyes with a look of laughter, reaffirming what I wrote in the note as I left my body totally glued to his.

— Who dared to say I want to run away from you, playboy?

At that moment, with our lips very close to each other, almost rolling that kiss, a friend of his calls.

EDUARDO

Shit! Just as I was about to kiss her, I hear Marcelo's voice:

— Edu, come here, I need to have a word with you.

— f**k, man, does it have to be now? Can't we do it later? — I replied between my teeth.

— No, Edu, it's serious! Come on, man, it's a quick game.

— Go see what he wants, and then we'll talk, meanwhile I'll wait for you on that stool, I'll take the opportunity to continue reading my book — said Gaby, signaling with a wink, while Marcelo spoke to me the bell rang again, and we all returned to class.

GABRIELLA

Arriving at the classroom, the teacher only gives the subject with the theme of the work and releases the class early, after arranging my material, I waited for Eduardo to agree where it would be done and the details we would have to present the work in the next class.

EDUARDO

I grabbed my things going to Gaby I held one of her hands, and we left, on the way out near the car park we talked about the topic of the work we would have to do, I stopped briefly as we approached the car.

— Can I drive you home? — I asked.

— What did you say?

— Do you accept a ride home?

Gaby looked at me frowning, then turned towards the car, I could see she was in doubt, because I knew she went away every day with Alice.

— I can't, Edu, I have to wait for Alice.

— We just have to go back there, and you tell her, or better yet, leave it to me to resolve this issue, I'll call her right now and tell her you're coming with me — I said, walking to the car, taking the key from my pocket and deactivating the alarm. — Come on, you cute smug girl, come on in!

— I don't know if I should do that, I'm sure you'll decide to take me somewhere else or grab me in there, I'd love to, but unfortunately, we can't…

— It wouldn't be a bad idea for us to go out for a while to a special place — I said maliciously.

— We have a lot to talk about, Edu, you can stop with this crazy idea, okay? — He changed the subject.

— Come on, my little smuggie, it's no big deal, it's just a ride — I answered, before she gave up.
