Goddess Given mate

1343 Words
Mateo This couldn’t be happening. I finally found my mate and she was a simple human, she was weak and by default would make me weak. Why was this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this punishment from the moon goddess? I searched high and low for years PATIENTLY and this happens. I was so mad, so enraged the only thing I could do to stop my wolf from releasing was to destroy. I was in my office throwing everything I could get my hands on. Glass and wood were shattered everywhere, papers were thrown and scattered all throughout the floors. All I saw was red, I wanted to tear everything and anything apart. I was a few seconds from shifting and making a run from all this. “Alpha, calm down...please” my beta begged. I didn’t even notice when he followed me in here. “Did you know?” I said as I got in his face with a look of hate on mine. Of course, he didn’t, I was just lashing out, this was a surprise to all of us. “No Alpha, I swear I didn’t. But calm down before you have no office tomorrow to work in tomorrow.” I raked my hands through my hair and let out a growl that shook the walls. “I don’t understand, what did I do wrong Derek?” I said after releasing a large breath trying to let go some of my anger. “You did nothing wrong, there is nothing wrong wit-” I cut him off I couldn’t hear him justify this mistake. “There is plenty wrong with this situation,” I snapped at him. “She can’t be my mate. You heard her she might’ve as well be human, she can’t f*****g heal, she can’t protect herself. She is no use for me, I can’t have her for a mate, I need someone better.” “What are you saying Matt? That’s your mate back in the hospital, ALONE, your goddess given mate, and she’s hurt. She needs you right now,” he pleaded with me, he had a look of sorrow in his eyes, and I couldn’t tell if it was for my mate or me. But why was he defending her so hard? We just met her; she has no connections here yet. “The number of rogues is growing every day which is bringing hunters out from under their shells. I need someone strong and ready to face an attack by my side. Emerald is not that someone. We saw that already and that attack was nothing. She will weaken the pack, wolves and pups could die; the pack could fall. I will not keep her for my mate…” “You’re going to reject her?” He said angrily and with wide eyes stepping forward. He was worried for his Luna or who he believed to be his Luna. “You would really do that to her? You haven’t even given her chance to prove herself, we could teach her, train her, make her strong. There’s nothing wrong with her being your mate.” “Yes, and im not doing this to spite her, it’s for the safety of the pack, my pack, the pack you swore an oath too.” I glared at him as I pointed my finger at his chest. He shook his head, he looked so disappointed in me as he stared in my eyes. “You’re making a mistake Matt, think about it. Please,” he begged. “Selene doesn’t make any mistakes.” “There’s nothing to think about. I made up my mind. I’m the Alpha and this is my decision. This is between me and Emerald.” “It will break her, Matt” “If she is the Luna you believe her to be she’ll survive but I won’t be keeping her around” I said moving around Derek and walking to the door. Derek intercepted and stood in front of the door. “Move Derek” he didn’t budge. “Derek move out of my way,” he blinked not moving a muscle. “Derek MOVE,” I bellowed in my Alpha tone. He took a deep breath and lowered his head before he stepped to the side. I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door looking back at my Beta. He shook his head at me, he was ashamed of my decision, but it was mine to make. I walked out the door with purpose, I was going to reject the one I spent years searching for. I walked into the hospital and the doctor and nurse from early gave me weary looks. I could only assume they knew what I was here for. I gave them and short nod before walking to the direction where Emerald was in. “She’s sleeping Alpha,” the nurse blurted “she needs to rest,” she definitely knew what I was doing here. I ignored her and continued my mission. I was nervous once I got to her door and my wolf was whimpering, he didn’t want me to do this. Tingles made its way through out my body, but it wasn’t the good ones. He didn’t care what his mate was or wasn’t, he just wanted her. Thinking about her made me angry and ashamed so I went on. I quietly turned the knob and opened the door, my mate was asleep curled up in a ball on the hospital bed, she was hiccupping. She was so small and fragile. My wolf whimpered, he could tell his mate was crying, crying so bad that tears were still leaking through her sleeping eyes. She was hurting so he was hurting. Could I really reject her? I had to; this was for the better, for the pack, for me, and my future pups. I stared at her a moment longer before walking to the foot of the bed, she shivered in her sleep, she could that I was there. The mate bond between us was strong. Goddess she was so beautiful, and her voice...her laugh…how she got so excited over flowers, she was almost perfect, almost. Her voice interrupted my internal battle. “Do it,” she said barely above a whisper. “Please,” her voice cracked as she turned around to face me while still laying down. I could tell her bottom lip was trembling and she was forcing back her cry. I stood there quietly; she didn’t say anything else. I felt my own heart breaking at her words and I was beginning to sweat as I readied myself to say the words. “I….I-I…I’ll give you time to let your body heal before putting you through more pain from a rejection. Then when you are better, I’ll do it. And you will accept.” I said with no emotion in my voice as I turned around walked out. I stopped once I got out her door and leaned back against the wall. I held my composure in there but internally I was losing it. My heart rate was higher than ever before, and I had sweat dripping down my eyebrows. I was breathing as if I just came back from a hunt. My wolf wasn’t too happy with me right now so he disappeared to the back of my mind leaving me to come down from this almost panic attack by myself. I couldn’t get myself to do it, the words were on the tip of my tongue, but I just couldn’t. It was too hard; I was already falling for her, and my wolf was ready to mate with her the moment we heard and we saw her. This only made me realize that I was getting soft, she was making me soft, weak, like her because I already couldn’t do one task. Once she is better, I’ll do it, ill be prepared by then. I’ll reject her and we will go our separate ways.
