The next day, everything seemed perfect.
Anaya woke up smiling — for the first time in months, her heart felt light.
Namjin had left early for his group schedule, but he’d written a small note on the table:
> “Don’t skip breakfast, sleepyhead.
– Namjin 😎”
She smiled, folded the note, and tucked it into her diary.
Later that afternoon, she got a call from Mr. Lee, the same producer who had fired her.
“Anaya, we have a project with Star Entertainment again. They need an assistant director — and honestly, you’re the only one I can trust for it.”
Anaya hesitated. “But… isn’t that Namjin’s company?”
“Yes,” he said quickly, “but you’ll be working with another artist. Don’t worry.”
She agreed — partly because she needed the job, and partly because she wanted to prove she could stand on her own.

Two days later, during the shoot, she was assigned to assist Mina, one of the most famous female idols in Korea — and, coincidentally, Namjin’s rumored ex-girlfriend.
Mina was stunning, confident, and always surrounded by reporters.
During the break, the cameras caught her hugging Namjin — just a friendly greeting, but the photo spread online in minutes.
When Anaya saw the news headline —
“Namjin and Mina Reunite! Sparks Fly Again?” —
her hands froze.
That evening, Namjin came to her apartment, smiling as always.
“Guess what, I got the day off—”
But before he could finish, Anaya spoke coldly,
“You should spend it with Mina. I’m sure she missed you more.”
Namjin blinked, confused. “What are you talking about?”
She showed him the photo on her phone.
“I was so stupid to believe that an idol could ever like a normal girl like me.”
Namjin sighed and stepped closer.
“It’s not what you think, Anaya. She was just—”
“Please stop,” she said, her voice shaking.
“I’ve already been a fool once, I won’t be again.”
He looked at her for a long moment — hurt flickering across his face — then quietly said,
“Fine. If that’s what you believe… I’ll leave.”
The door shut softly behind him, but the silence that followed was louder than any scream.
