The room went silent the moment I saw him.
Not gradually.
Instantly.
Like the entire world had been waiting for him to arrive before it decided to breathe again.
My pulse jumped.
There he was.
The same man from that night.
Cold. Controlled. Untouchable.
I stopped walking.
Everything in me tightened at once.
This is him.
This is the one.
I took a step forward before I could stop myself.
“Wait,” I said, my voice shaking but urgent. “I need to talk to you”
His eyes flicked toward me.
For a second, something unreadable passed through them.
Then it vanished.
Completely.
He looked away like I was nothing.
I froze.
“Excuse me,” I tried again, stepping closer. “You don’t remember me”
The air shifted.
People around us started noticing.
Whispers spread.
Phones subtly lifted.
And then he spoke.
Cold. Clear. Final.
“I don’t know you”
The words didn’t just land.
They crushed.
I blinked.
“What” my voice cracked. “That’s not true”
He adjusted his cufflinks, not even looking at me now. “I think you’re mistaken”
Mistaken.
The word made my chest tighten painfully.
“No,” I said quickly, stepping forward. “You were there. That night. I was in your room”
A pause.
The entire room felt like it was holding its breath.
Then he finally looked at me again.
But this time, his gaze was sharp.
A warning.
“Enough,” he said quietly.
My heart dropped.
“This isn’t a joke,” I insisted. “Something happened and I need to talk to you”
Before he could respond, another voice cut in.
Sweet. Confident. Sharp in a different way.
“I think there’s been some confusion”
A woman stepped beside him.
Perfect hair. Expensive smile. A hand already resting on his arm like she belonged there.
My stomach twisted.
“And you are” I asked slowly.
The woman smiled.
“I’m his fiancée”
Silence.
It hit harder than anything else.
Fiancée.
My lips parted slightly.
“No,” I whispered before I could stop myself.
The woman tilted her head. “I’m sorry, do we know you”
I looked at him.
Waiting.
Just one reaction.
Just one sign that this was wrong.
But he gave me nothing.
Not guilt.
Not recognition.
Not even discomfort.
Just silence.
My breath became uneven.
“That’s not true,” I said, my voice breaking now.
“You’re lying”
The woman laughed softly. “About my own relationship”
Security had already started moving closer.
I felt the room closing in.
People were watching now.
Whispers growing louder.
Phones recording.
Humiliation spreading like fire.
“No,” I said again, weaker this time. “Please, you have to remember me”
But he had already turned slightly toward the woman.
Like I wasn’t even there anymore.
That was the moment something inside me cracked.
My vision blurred.
My chest tightened sharply.
I tried to breathe.
But it wasn’t coming.
The ground felt unstable under my feet.
My hands trembled.
“I…” I tried to say.
But the words failed.
My knees weakened.
The last thing I saw was him turning away completely.
And the world going dark.
I collapsed.
