End of the world TV talk shi- show

"Look, even though you kids don't want to do this, we have to let the public know somehow." The President washed his hand over his face. "Since the pandemic started, we haven't let out an official announcement of what is happening. We have confused and scared citizens everywhere. They deserve to know what is happening." "Then what do you suggest we do?" Nathan asked, leaning forward and placing his elbows on the table. "We can't just inform only the people in our country either." Ember mused. "Which means we have to call on a meeting with the other leaders of the world to inform them of how we're going to let the public know." Opposite of Nathan, she leant back in her seat. "Wait,"  Kenneth interrupted, "does the other countries even know what is happening?" Everyone looked at the President, waiting for his response. "No, I don't think they know but seeing that people are dying, I guess they just followed orders from me which is surprising." He realized himself. The rest of them were still staring at the President as he pondered over the happenings over the past months. "Uh, Mr. President?" James called. "Yes?" "The meeting?" "Oh yes, of course." The President waved over one of his employees and the nearest one from him quickly approached him. "I want a meeting arranged as soon as possible. I don't care if it's a virtual meeting, I need it to happen right now." He ordered. "Yes, sir." The employee scurried off, to the people that handles what he had just been tasked to do. The President turned back to the teens he had just formed connections with. "Now we just have to wait." "Okay," all heads turned to Jacob, "now that that's out of the way, what do we do if Grace turns up?" Astraea's scoff filled the room. "With that traitor?" Nathan slammed his hand on the table. "You have no idea what you're talking about." "She almost killed my boyfriend!" "It's Nick's fault that he almost died." Nathan argued back, watching Nick as he shrunk back in his seat. "He wouldn't have gotten that bad if he had just accepted the others offers to help. He wasn't the only one worried during the aftermath of that battle. He was just hardheaded." Astraea's fists clenched in anger. "Stop! Just stop." Nick exclaimed. "The two of you, stop arguing back and forth. You two haven't been on good terms since then. We're all tired of you two silently arguing." "I just don't see why we still need to rescue that-" "Shut up." Nick cut Astraea off. "Don't you dare continue that sentence. Can you just listen to Nathan? You have no idea what you're talking about. Please stop also being hardheaded." He practically pleaded. She just scoffed, crossing her arms, throwing another glare at Nathan. Before any of them could even utter another word, an employee busted through the door, laptop in hand and setting it in front of the President. The meeting lasted for an hour, all of them exchanging ideas and the other leaders understanding what was happening to their world, why masks were suddenly shoved in their arms and the houses of the people they're leading, upgraded with air purifiers. "Thank you to you all for your cooperation." The President ended, closing his laptop. A week later and the government and them decided to let the public know. "Why am I the one getting nervous?" Kenneth paced back and forth in the living room, waiting for the part where Ember and Nathan appear in the television. "We remind everyone again to stay in their homes. Do not go out unless it's important. I repeat, do not go out unless it's for something important. Now we have an announcement from our President." "This is it, turn it up." Rocco leaned forward, tapping Jacob.  Jacob tapped a couple buttons and the volume went up. The President walked to the podium, clearing his throat, adjusting the mike so he could be heard clearly. "We've recently established a partnership with a group of special people that can help with the pandemic that we're currently facing. We're going to be sharing some information and we ask everyone to listen carefully." The cameras shifted to the left, capturing Nathan and Ember walking up the podium. The President stepped aside, letting the two teens take over. "On October 31st, a virus bomb in Greenland exploded." Nathan started. "Unfortunately, we could not stop this. The enemy was too powerful for us to take on." He looked at Ember. "We are children born in 2209 with special abilities and we have every intention to use it to help the human race. Our gifts were given to us for a reason and I assure you that we've come forward to help." She paused. "But we can't do everything by ourselves. We also need your help." She then looked at the President for confirmation and he nodded at her. Ember looked back at the camera, taking a deep breath. "What we need from you is---" The two teens continued talking about all the details that they've decided to share with the public. The events that occurred next were predictable- an uproar from the public, some protestants and some dirty looks thrown their way every time they were out. On the bright side, stores have started to open up, the death rate is going down and the world is slowly transitioning to a new normal.  Greyson and his team have been working night and day to search for a cure but have been coming up short. The teens are constantly teleporting back and forth from the President's office to their house, working out some plans and trying to predict next events. Not only that, they constantly have to talk in TV, discussing the final plans with the people. "To all other children born in 2209, we ask that you bring yourselves forward, we need all the help we can get." Ember ended with that sentence and they walked away. All that's left to do is hope for the best.
