30 I come out of the hospital car park and drive through the upmarket streets of Beverly Grove. It's not long before I notice something fishy on my tail. A dark-blue Ford saloon a few cars back. I noticed it pull out behind me after I left the hospital car park. Nothing funny about that, I'll grant you. But call it instinct, paranoia, whatever you want, it doesn't look right. It's hanging out wide to the left of the middle lane, like it's trying to get a view of me around the cars in front. I make a couple of unplanned turns, as I always do when I'm sniffing out a tail. It makes the same turns soon after. So I throw in a dummy. The car cruises on behind me, not reacting. We're on a major highway, following a popular route, so it could be nothing.
