We’re home! I said shocked.
Sam quickly disentangles himself from me. The partition rolls down just as the two of us settle on opposite sides of the backseat.
We’ve arrived. I’ll let you out here and then park the car. Unless you need something else? Caron asked.
No that will be all. Sam said.
Thanks Carson. I said to him still shocked.
Sam steps out of the car, then reaches back to help me out behind him. I take his hand, felling the spark ignite between us. I said in my mind (it’s a good thing I accepted a ride home from Sam...it got me much more closer to him.)
Shall we? He asked.
I nod, trying to shake it off and act like nothing happened, but I just can’t... before I know it, the day of the engagement party has finally arrived. With the afternoon off, I met up with Clara to shop for the perfect look.
Okay, I know you’ve been holding out on me. Spill! Where did it happen? How long did he last? Is he as good as he looks? Clara asked me grinning.
I feel my checks flood with heat as I try to shush her, frantically looking around to make sure no one heard. Clara! Nothing like that has happened. I said shocked.
Yet! Don’t you stand there and lie to me. I took two trains and a taxi to get here.
With a sigh, I lower my voice and fill Clara in on everything... the close calls, the make out, the jealousy and the engagement. I’m gonna try and control myself. But control or not, I’m gonna have him no matter what.
Oooo I like your spunk Blair! Do you have a plan? You know Posing naked on a mans bed always works right?
Oh my God Clara...
Hold that thought blair!
She races through the racks and picks up a gorgeous gown. She stared at me and back at the gown. She ran down to me with her eyes wide and her mouth opened.
Blair! This is the one. The one the prophecy foretold. You’ve got to try it on.
I look at the beautiful lace and the flattering silhouette that shows just enough leg. I beamed at her. “Hand it over”. I took the dress and went into the changing room. I put on the dress and almost didn’t recognize myself again. I stood in front of a mirror admiring myself in shock. I said to myself as I smiled. My number one rule of an Engagement. ‘Outshine the bride - to - be in this stunning outfit’.
Blair! What’s taking so long?
I’m coming out now just prepare to be wowed. I winked and smirked at myself as I walk out of the changing room.
Oh damn Blair, is this you? I smiled at her words. You look so gorgeously hot. I didn’t know I this dress will fit you so perfectly. I can imagine everyone’s reaction when they see you tonight. I mean one look at you, sSam might forget Judith and come running to you.
Oh! Clara thanks for the dress and the compliments but I’d better stick to something a little more simple. I’m not about to try to outdo Judith at her own engagement party. That ... would not end well. When I say that I mean, Judith throwing me out of her engagement party because I look more beautiful than she is.
Hmm you’ve got a point there. But it’s not your fault if you’re more pretty right. I want you to forget about Judith, dress to impress and go have fun. This is another opportunity for you. If Sam sees you in that dress, he’ll have some thoughts about getting married to Judith. You know, he’ll rethink about this marriage of a thing.
Erh I don’t know.
Come on Blair, I want you to be the talk of that engagement party. Pretty Pleaseeeeeee?
Ah, alright fine I’ll buy it.
Yayyy. I can already see you walking into the hotel looking like this. I can’t wait to hear every last dits of this party.
Okay okay I hear you can we shop now?
Of course Blair. She smiled as we window shop for a bit longer before I head home to get ready.
That evening ...I arrive at the hotel for the engagement party in style. The paparazzi starts snapping my picture as soon as I emerge from the limo with the twins. Woah. I guess this party is really a big deal.
Is that why we had to dress up? Again? Mira asked in a sad tone.
At least there’ll be cake, right? Right? Blair? Mike asked.
One of the paparazzi waved at me, trying to get my attention as he says. ‘And who is this newest member of the Lockwood household? Tell us about yourself honey’. That question took me by surprise. But in other to avoid embarrassing myself, I replied almost immediately.
Uh... I’m Blair Lawson. A gorgeous woman trying to find my way in this world. I strike a pose for the cameras, highlighting all my best features before continuing. By day, I’m a mild-Mannered recent grad student, minding the children of a billionaire. But at night, anything can happen. I wink, and the cameras go wild.
Ooo, Judith wheeler must hate you. He said smiling sheepishly.
What can I say. I’m a charming lady my good sireee.
Ohhh indeed you are my lady.
Come on, kids. Let’s go inside.
Yes. please! Mike said happily. I enter the party with the twins, and my eyes falls on Sam immediately. He stands at the other side of the room, receiving congratulations from the guests with Judith. My heart thumps in my chest at the sight. I held my gaze admiring his good looks until he looked at my direction. At first he didn’t recognize me cause I was a bit taller than my usual height. I smiled weakly and waved at him, he furrowed his brows trying to recognize me. He gazed at me from head to toe and saw the kids by my side. Immediately his eyes widened with shock and his jaw dropped as he knew it was me. His eyes were fixed on me drinking me in as he walked towards me and the kids. Judith saw him moving towards us and followed him in shock. I knew they were surprised at my look and I smiled to myself and to Clara’s good work.
Dad! Mira said smiling.
Hey! Kids.
Congratulations on your big night. Sam’s gaze softens as it lifts to mine. He opened his mouth, but Judith speaks first.
Thanks for bringing the kids to this event, Blair. I know all these glamour and excitement probably isn’t your scene. And she’s right about that. Parties aren’t my thing.
You’re right Judith, this is a huge burden. But don’t you worry, I can manage one party.
Mmm that’s the spirit. She smiled forcefully. I knew she was upset about me showing up like this and it affecting Sam, but she’s trying really hard to cover it and she’s doing well. But you know me. I see right through her. A waiter swings past the kids, lowering a tray of sliders for them to sample.
Oh my gosh mike. Are those burgers?
Best. Party. Ever! The twins happily stuff their faces as Sam leans over and whispers...
This was your doing, wasn’t it?
I’ll never tell. I said in a seductive voice.
I can’t believe Matt put those abominations on the menu. Would a little class be too much to ask? Judith said angrily.
Speak of the devil... He said as he approaches the group, arms wide.
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that you’re fashionably late. Sam turned to me with his furrowed brows. And I mouthed. ‘What!’ Before he could speak,.
Matt you’re not supposed to give your own introduction. Judith said in a soft tone.
I’ve always been a maverick. So drinks, anyone? Just me? Be right back...
Good to see you too Matt. Sam said as they move to welcome more guest. Mira tugs on my elbow. Uncle Matt left before I could ask for a water. She said sadly.
I’m thirsty too!
Okay kids I’ll go tell him. Just stay here. Two waters coming up. Matt watches me as I approach the bar on the far side of the dance floor.
Couldn’t resist following me, huh?
That, and the kids asked me to grab them something to drink. I grab two waters bottles from the bartender. As I turn back, Matt lifts his hands and tenderly strokes my check.
What are you doing? I asked him with my eyes wide.
Seeing if I can change Sam Lockwood fifty shades of red. Just look at him. He said as he waited for me to look. I subtly glance over my shoulder... sure enough, Sam is watching intensely, his jaw tight and his eyes hard. Fun, isn’t it? I bet we could make him positively explode if we kiss...
Erh, no thank you. I look back at Sam, trying to gauge his reaction, when I realize... oh my god, where are the twins? At some point during the drink distraction, the kids managed to slip away into the crowd. I frantically scan the room for any sign of them.
Don’t worry, Blair. I’m sure there’re around here somewhere.
I ignore Matt as I hurry to hunt them down.... eventually, I track them down at the hotel kitchen. What are you two doing here? You had me worried sick. I said to them angrily.
Sorry, Blair. We just wanted to do an experiment! Right bro?
I take a deep breath to calm down... and notice the balloons tied up behind them. This can’t be good.. Dare I ask?
We want to see how much icing flies onto Judith when she cuts into our prank balloon cake! Mike said to me grinning.
I try to maintain my stern expression as I picture it... (okay I gotta admit that would be hilarious. But I’m their nanny. And I should be a good role model. I know the right thing to do is stop the prank. But I also want to see what happens. So I’d rather help the twins prank Judith.) I’m in. Tell me what to do.
Mike and Mira grin at each other, then mike turned back to me. We’ve already blown up the balloons. We just need you to help us make the cake look realistic. Then we’ll hide the real cake and swap ‘em out.
Ok. I’m only doing this because Judith is the worst. She needs a little wake - up call. So, I say we replace all her food with balloons until she learns to tell you two apart.
I know right. I mean for Christ sake, I’m a girl and he’s a boy. There’s a huge difference.
Don’t worry about that Mira. When we change all her food with balloons, she will learn.
Within a matter of minutes, the three of us have made something that resembles an engagement cake. Time to make the swap. It’s not that noticeable right? We make the swap and all that’s left is to watch and wait. We leave the fake cake in the kitchen and return to the party, trying to act as casual as possible as we rejoin the others.
Sam, Judith... the crowd are starting to get restless. Maybe you should cut the cake or something.
Wonderful idea Matt! I said smiling at him and then I turned my gaze to the kids Who returned the smile.
Uh...sure?
Yeah. I said looking Matt in the eyes. Sam gives me an odd look as Matt here’s him and Judith to the center of the room. One of the catering staff wheels out our prank cake.
Oh my! This cake sure is... different. Judith said to Sam shocked.
But I bet it tastes great. (I don’t even know why I said that).
I know I’d sure like to try it. Mike said.
Cake! cake! cake!. Mira said jumping up and down.
If it would keep you quiet, I’ll cut the cake now.
The kids and I share a smile as Judith picks up the knife and leans close to the cake... there’s no turning back now I can do this. I hold my breath as Judith slices into the cake... and icing explodes all over her!
What the f**k?! She said shocked. Who did this? She asked angrily.
Let me help you clean up t- - she didn’t even let me finish my sentence as she attacked me with her words.
Unless you know how to get buttercream out of channel, BACK OFF. And why are you still taking pictures? Do you think I want this part of the night documented? Judith stalks past the party photographer, who sneaks in one last picture. Sam turns to the twins.
I know you two did this. I think it’s time for Carson to take you home.’Yes!’ Said mike happily. And we’ll talk about this tomorrow. ‘No’ Mira said.
I’ll go grab our coats. I said as I turned on my heels.
Wait! Sam said holding my elbow. I turned around and he continued. You can stay, if you want, Blair. Carson can keep an eye on them, and not everyone’s night should be cut short.
B- But I’m their nanny. I should be with them, it’s my job. I shouldn’t be here unless...
Unless what Blair?
Unless you want me to stay?.
His eyes darkened with desire as he stared into mine. I waited for a response but I got none.
I’ll see you at home sam.
‘Blair’. He called out. I turned to him.
Huh!
Am their dad and I’m telling to stay if you want.
I looked at him I said in my mind. (He’s ignoring my question. That’s not what I asked him). Soon, Carson arrived to take us outside. The twins are ushered out by Carson, elated to return home and already forgetting about their looming punishment. Judith is still missing as the band strikes up the first song of the evening.
‘I want you to stay, Blair’. He said as he walked towards me and extends a hand, eyes unreadable.
Are you sure?... I asked.
May I have this dance, Blair?
Oh! Uhh yeah. Of course. I said surprised. With my heart pounding in my throat, I take his hand and let him lead me to the dance floor. He holds me close, and I can almost forget that this is his engagement party with another woman... almost. I lean back a little so I can look at his face.
This isn’t so bad... I said smiling.
What? Did you think dancing with me would be?
Not like that! It’s just ... we haven’t been this close since, uh ... since ... (oh f**k this Blair. I can’t even get it out of my head or even say it out loud because saying it actually turns me on. Since his hands were on me in the back of the town car... Since he came up to my room to apologize, and I heard his moan as I rubbed him down ... Since we were face to face in the kitchen, fighting passionately that first night, weeks ago... All the memories came flooding back as I held his gaze).
Blair... maybe we should find different dance partners. He said sadly adverting his gaze from me. Looking around.
But the song hasn’t even changed yet. I said shockingly.
It’s not about the song. You know what it’s about.
I furrowed my brows and said to him. ‘I’m confused’.
Immediately, he looked around again if anyone is watching or close enough to hear us. He presses his lips to my ear, lowering his voice to a husky whisper ...
“You know how hard it is for me to resist you”. My eyes widened. “Then don’t sam, don’t resist me”. We locked eyes for some minutes his hand sliding from my back to my waist pulling me more closer to him as Our lips were just inches apart. He turned me around and hugged me from behind giving me full space to feel his hard d**k on my butt. ‘Can you feel how hard I am for you?’ He asked ‘Yes Sam, I can feel it’. I said seductively. Mmm I love that. I’m so hard for you blair and I really wish I could feel how wet you’re right now. (Damn you Sam. He’s definitely saying the truth there because I’m socking my panties right now. God he knows my body already. With all these going on, Judith hasn’t returned and no one is watching us. Except Matt who’s walking towards our direction and Thankgod for the waiters moving in front of him giving me time to separate myself from Sam).
What’s wrong? He asked worriedly.
I nodded my head to Matt’s direction.
I let go of his hands and said. I guess it probably isn’t wise for us to be so close at your engagement party... suddenly, someone taps on my shoulder. I spin around.
Blair, we need to talk. Now.
I -
Without waiting for a response, Matt wraps an arm around my waist and sweeps me away from Sam. (What did I do this time? I asked myself. Oh my! Did he see me so close to Sam? My eyes widened and my heart beating so fast like it’s about to explode as I think about what is going on in his head.)
