I block the side attack from Devon a lot faster than I thought I could and kick the back of his knee with my bare leg, he drops to one knee in surprise and I twirl to stand behind him with my wooden sword to his neck. “I win!” I say smugly. Smiling, he raises both hands into the air in defeat. My improvement in self-defence class is getting better and better though I’m still a lot slower than most of my peers.
