Her Choice

Chapter 2

Ares POV

Today I meet the new recruits for the elite warrior training. I had some pack business to attend yesterday so I was unable to greet them at orientation. I also had to meet Gina yesterday afternoon. She informed me she was pregnant which I was excited about. Not being to find my mate I finally decided to choose Gina has my chosen mate. We had been seeing each other since last years war training. She as in the healers program. She was stunning with long dark brown hair and light brown eyes. I was insistently drawn to her. My wolf Carter was not having it. He was pissed at me for not waiting for out mate; but I have a pack to run and it needs a luna. Plus with the war the chance of us actually finding our mate is slim. I wasn’t getting any longer. I am going to be twenty six. After finding out Gina was going to be having my pup I decided to finally mark her and have her luna ceremony. It will take part a month from now during the full moon. I was on my way to training field to let the guys know the news. When I walk up to my boys talking.

“So Dylan, your sister will be in training today mind if I spar with her” Eric says well giving Dylan a smirk.

“f**k you Eric! You will keep your dirty hands to yourself.” Dylan spits.

I clear my throat. Clearly not knowing what they are talking about. They all turn to look at me.

“Hey guys, I have some news. I have decided to finally take Gina as my chosen mate.” I say with a big smile on my face.

“That’s get! We are happy for you man. I know it was a hard choice to make but you and Gina make a good couple.” Eric quickly replies.

“What if you find your mate? Or what if Gina finds hers? Will you both reject the gift the moon goddess gave you?” Vince says giving me a stern look.

“Come on Vince you know the chances are slim. Plus Gina is pregnant with my pup. I have to do right by her and my pup. If I ever do find my mate which I highly doubt I will figure it out then.” I reply knowing he is judging me. Vince lost his mate to the war about two years ago. He says there is nothing like finding your mate. The love they give you consumes your soul.

Vince was broken for the first year. After we all finally got him to straighten up he start to sleep around. He never took any of the she wolves seriously specially after his mate died. We all hoped he would get a second chance mate. Knowing the pain he goes through.

“Holy s**t man, You got Gina pregnant?!” Dylan says.

“Ya man, I wasn’t planning on it. It just happened. I am happy about it tho. I love Gina she makes me feel complete and happy.” I reply rubbing the back of my neck as I look back at he guys.

“Hey man, congratulations. We really are happy for you. We are just a little shocked that’s all. I mean your having a pup and taking a chosen mate all in one day.” Eric replies well giving my shoulder a hard squeeze.

“Ya Ares, We support whatever decision you make. We are happy for you. Hell we will celebrate tonight at the bar. What do you say?” Justin says well giving me a bro hug.

“I have plans with my sister tonight. So I will take a rain check. But I will owe you a beer bro.” Dylan says to me.

“O come on Dylan. Just invite Cora to the bar tonight. They have food and I am sure she has some hot friends she can invited. Plus Aries hasn’t met your hot sister that you kept from us.” Eric says chuckling

“Hot sister? What am I missing here?” I reply to the group with a confused look on my face. I knew Dylan had a brother Jason who died in the war; but I didn’t know he had a sister.

“Well Dylan has a goddess as his sister.” Replies Justin with a cocky smirk knowing that Dylan is about to lose his s**t.

“First off stop talking about my little sister. She is off limits. At lease I don’t have to worry about you Ares. You got my back right? Keep these boys in line with me” Dylan says well giving me a playful push.

“Of course I go your back bro. You know I have my little sister Karina and I would beat all your asses if you tried anything with her.” Giving all my boys a stern look.

“You won’t be saying that once you see her.” Vince says giving me a wink.

Before I can reply I get a mind link from my father to meet him at the pack house. This must be important for me to mind link me right before training starts.

“Sorry guys my dad just mind linked me and needs to meet now. You guys can handle training for today with out me and I will catch you all tonight.” I say well heading to the pack house. I wonder what he wants to take about.

Cora POV

I wake up jump in the shower to wake myself up. Knowing today is my first day of training. My wolf Star jumping for joy. She loves to train and she was good at it.

“Cora I have a good feeling about today. Plus we will be around some much eye candy.” My wolf Star says.

“Star, You behave yourself during training. You know we are waiting for our mate. No flirting with the other wolfs.” I say back laughing at her. My horny little wolf has been dying to meet our mate. I don’t blame her. Even I feel sexually frustrated.

“You can’t blame me for flirting with the hot make wolves. Plus they can’t resist my wolf charms.” Stars says with her purring voice.

“Okay…okay you can flirt a little. You just make sure to keep your dirty thoughts to yourself. I have to been on top of my game. Remember they only pick twenty for the elite warriors. Plus not she wolf has passed the training program. I want to be that first. We have to train hard they any male wolves. We have to prove ourselves. That we deserve to be here.” I say to Star before I start brushing my teeth and placing my long platinum blonde her into a high ponytail.

I step out of my bathroom and head to my closet pulling out black work out leggings and a white spots bra. Both of them fitting like a second skin. Which is the way I like them so during training it is one with my body. After getting dressed I slip on my training shoes and start to head to my door when I hear a knock. I open the door to find Robert standing there looking hot as hell. He was wearing grey training shorts and a tight white t-shirt that shows off his huge built chest and arms. My wolf always had a soft spot for Robert but in the end we knew he was not our mate. So he was off limits.

“Hey Sweets, I came to see if you want to head to the dinning room for breakfast with me. Miranda said she would meet us there.” Robert says with a bright smile.

“Ya! Thank would be great.” I reply walking out of my room and locking the door behind me. Robert and I head to the dinning room for breakfast. Robert throwing his arm around my shoulder.

“So sweets, are you ready for training today? Robert throwing me a wink.

“I am ready to kick you ass if that’s what you are saying.” I reply with a giggle.

As we walk into the dinning room we I can already smell the delicious food. We grab a plate and I start to load if full of bacon, eggs and potatoes. Grabbing my coffee and a water we head to the table Miranda was sitting at. There were several very pretty she wolfs sitting with her. Robert and myself take a seat at the around table. Getting ready for Robert to drop his usual lines to pick up the these she wolfs but it never comes. He just looks at me talking to Miranda about her healer program. I was shocked. Robert never gives up a chance to pick up a hot she wolf yet he is acting like they don’t even exist. Something is up with him and I will have to talk to him about it later. I land up making friends with the two lovely she wolfs that Miranda met. Once is name Becca and the other is Taylor both in the healers program with Miranda. Right when I was about to leave the table my bother Dylan walks up behind me.

“Hey Goldie, So I know we were going to have dinner tonight just us two but I was wondering if we can take a rain check and hang out at the local bar instead. We are celebrating Alpha Aries future Luna and pup. You can bring all you friends. It will be fun.” Dylan says staring into my eyes that mirror his. I assume to see if I was upset about him cancelling our brother sister date.

“Ahh.. Sure we can reschedule our dinner.” Not giving away that I was disappointed. I really wanted to talk with my brother rebuild our relationship and grow closer like we used to be.

“Alright cool. So you want to meet us at Tipsy tonight? Bring your friends they have good food and drinks. They also have a dance floor with a DJ and since it is Friday they let the ladies in for free.” Dylan says well looking around the table where he spots Miranda.

All I hear out of his mouth is “Mate”

What the f**k! I look at Miranda who is staring back at my bother she had just walked back to the table after cleaning up her space.

She also growls out “Mate.

Wow I didn’t see that one coming. Miranda hadn’t seen my brother in years. Since he felt before our first shift. He only came back for Jason’s funeral and he never saw Miranda. I watch as I see him walk around the table taking her by the waist and pulling her into his chest. I was happy that Dylan found his mate and even more excited that it was Miranda. She was already like family to me. We grew up together and I always new she had a crush on my brother; but I felt a bit jealous knowing they found each other and I still haven’t found my mate. On top of it I am sure they will be building up their bond. Which once again will leave my relationship with Dylan in the same state it has been in for the last four years which nonexistent.

“So we will meet you all tonight around nine. Goldie….!” Dylan says well waving his hand in front of my face. Snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Ah… Ya of course we will be there” I say we clearing my throat.

“Great! I guess we will also be celebrating my beautiful mate” My brother says well staring at a now blushing Miranda. I walk towards Miranda giving her the biggest hug.

“I am so happy for you Miranda. I couldn’t ask for a better fit for my brother.” I say well looking at both of them with a smile on my face. I really am happy for them. Two people who I love are now together.

“So we better get to the training field or we will be late” I say turning to Robert.

Robert and I leave a very love struck Miranda and Dylan behind us. We exit the dining room and head to the training field. Robert says nothing but I know he is worried about me; but now is not the time for us to talk about things. Once we hit the field I see beta Vince, Alpha Justin, and Alpha Eric. We still haven’t met Alpha Aries which is odd since we are on his territory.

“Alright recruits today we will only be observing you. We want to see you strengths and weakness. This will allow us to see who would be a good partner for you during training and see how advance you are.” Beta Vinces announces.

“Everyone pair up in groups of three.” Alpha Justin sounds through the field.

“So sweets want to pair up?” Robert eyeing me with a smile.

“Sure, But I won’t go easy on you” I chuckle.

“Do you mind if I pair with you two.” I strong deep voice come from behind me. I turn to see a dark brown haired green eyed man standing next to me.

“Ya of course” I say offering my hand out to him. “I am Cora and this is Robert. What’s your name?” I say to him well shaking his hand.

“My name is Daniel. Nice to meet you Cora and Robert.” Daniel replies with a smile.

Has everyone finished pairing up. Alpha Eric starts to speak. “Alright now that everyone has picked their partners we will be doing two on one scrimmaging. Your goal is to subdue your opponents. You will be doing this in human form. We will be walking around reviewing you techniques. So lets get started.”

Looking at Robert and Daniel “I will go first. That’s if you boys don’t mind?” Giving them a mischief look. I don’t wait for them to reply I just get into my defensive stance.

“Alright boys now don’t go light on me. Give me all you got; because I will not take it light on you.” Giving them a wink.

Star my wolf chirping in my mind “Let’s show these boys how it is done” She says with a howl of excitement. Star loves to spar and to show off our skills.

“O sweets, You know I won’t hold back” Robert says as he starts to circle. Daniel doing the same. I am significantly smaller then all these warriors. Males always seem to under estimate me. Being smaller I am quicker and more agile. My moves are smoother and flow like water. Which I use to my advantage.

I finally see Daniel make his move coming at my right side. I move quickly dodging his fist. Side stepping him I throw a back fist to his stomach will all my might. I then see Robert running towards me seeing that I am distracted; but I see him coming for me on my left side. I quickly jump up using Daniels bent over back from the punched I landed to his stomach for a boost throwing all my weight towards Robert I plant my fist right into is jaw. Watching his head flip to the side studding back from my momentum. Daniel jumps me from behind grabbing my neck in a choke hold. I gasp for air as he tightens his grip I use my weight and stomped hard on his foot. When it distracted him enough to loosen his grip I used my right hand bring it down hard in a fist to his crotch area. Making Daniel gasp in pain as him lets go of my neck and hits the ground holding his Crown Jewels between his legs. Robert using the time to send a punch to my left rib feeling it crack. Sending a shooting pain to my side. I stumble back from his hard blow. I glance at him as he comes at me again this time I see he is trying to throw me off balance by faking going to the right. So I side step him throwing a hard blow to his ear. Looking at him it has thrown off is equilibrium and he is stumbling for balance giving me a chance to throw a blow to his rib cage and he falls to the grown. Not realizing we had a audience. I hear clapping coming from behind me.

“Very impressive Cora” Alpha Eric says with a huge smirk on his face.

“I see fighting skills run in the family. Well there is still room for improvement I would like to see how you do in wolf form” Eric says well looking me up and down as if I am a piece of meat.

“Thank you Alpha Eric I appreciate you feed back.” I say well I turn to see how my partners are fairing. Daniel is just getting to his feet looking a little pale from the blow to his beloved jewels and Robert standing up quickly titling his head to see if he can get his bearing from the hard hit to his ear. After a hard day of training and us taking turns beating each other’s asses we finally are done for the day. I turn to leave the field with Robert when Alpha Eric walks up.

“ Hey Cora, Can I speak to you for a moment.” Alpha Eric says well running his hand through is dirty blonde hair.

“Sure” I turn to Robert “I will meet you at he dorms” I tell Robert. Who is giving a a death glare to Alpha Eric.

“Are you sure Sweets? I can wait for you. Plus I don’t think your brother would like for you to be alone with a male wolf you hardly know.” Robert says well looking past me to Eric.

“Robert you have nothing to worry about. I can take care of myself I will meet you at your room.” Giving him a peak on the check. Robert softens and looks into my eyes.

“Okay sweets, If you need anything just mind link me.” Robert then turns and starts walking to our dorms.

“So Alpha Eric, What did you want to talk about?” I say well looking up into his light brown eyes. I won’t lie Alpha Eric is hot. With longer dirty blonde hair cleaned shaven face and a chiseled jaw. He would make any girl weak in the knee. Hell pretty much all my brothers friends are gorgeous. Yet totally off limits. I am sure Dylan would not like it if I were to date any of his friend. It was probable land up a disaster. Even though technically he landed up with one of my best friends.

“Uh ya I was wondering if Dylan invited you to Tipsy’s tonight? Eric asks me as he we start walking toward my dorms.

“Ya he did. But I haven’t decided if I was going yet.” I reply.

Which is true my crack rib is still hurting but should be good as new by tomorrow. I am not feeling up to going out tonight I think in my mind.

“You should really come. I know Dylan found his mate today it is time to celebrate. Plus it will be fun. I would love to buy you a drink and get to know you better. ” Eric says with his bright white smile.

Looking at Eric I can tell he is a player. I am sure he is use to getting any girl he wants; but I am not like the other women. I guess I can be his friend. I mean we are going to be around each other for six months plus he is my brother friend. I should make an effort to get to know them.

“Alpha Eric…… I” before I could finish Eric says “Cora, Please call me Eric there is no need for formalities outside of training.

I look at him stunned. I don’t know if that’s a good idea knowing some the warriors would think something is going on. Yet I guess if we are not in training just us it should be fine.

“Well I guess I should go to celebrate my best friend and brother.” I say well we finally made it to the front of the dormitory.

“Great! So I will see you there? I will save you a seat.” Eric face lights up.

“Ya, I will see you there.” I say well walking to the entrance of the dormitory. Walking up to my dorm room I see Robert standing next to my door. Looks like he had already showered and changed into some dark blue jeans and a tight white t-shirt showing off his board chest. I walked to my door unlocking it and Robert walks in behind me closing the door.

“So what did Alpha Eric want?” Robert says with a irritation to his voice.

“He just wanted to know if I was going to Tipsy’s tonight.” I say as I shrug my shoulders.

I could see Robert eyes narrow. “Why would he care if you go or not?” Robert says not hiding he is not happy that Eric and I talked.

“He just wants to buy me a drink and talk get to know me. He is my brothers friend. I think he is just trying to be friendly.” I say like it is no big deal.

“Ya, right he likes you! All of those horny warriors do. I saw the way they were all looking at you Cora. Look I just worry about you. You mean the world to me.” Robert says with his crystal blue eyes drawling me in. He starts walking towards me stopping so close I can feel his minty breath next to my ear. My heart starts to beat faster. This is not good I try to take a step backwards but Robert grabs my waist pulling me towards his chest. I look up into his crystal blue eyes when I feel his lips crash into mine. His soft lips moving against mine. He softly licks my bottom lip asking for entrance and I oblige opening my lips as his tongue enters my mouth. His kiss is full of lust and wanting. I moan into the kiss holding on to his blonde hair slightly pulling it. I can hear a growl of pleasure come from Roberts throat fueling me further. I feel Robert hands move down to my ass pull me up as I rap my legs around his waist. I can feel his c**k brushing up against my core making me moan. “Cora, open the door I need your help getting ready for tonight.” She says with pure happiness in her voice. I look at Robert who looks hurt by how I pushed him off. To cut through the awkwardness I open the door not saying a word to Robert.

“Hey Miranda, come in.” I say knowing she could probable smell the arousal in the room. f**k what was I thinking. I should have never let Robert kiss me. I am just craving it. I haven’t met my mate and being a twenty one year old virgin is a hard thing to do specially for werewolves. Our s****l desires need to be met but I have my ways to calm the urges.

“Should I come back later.” Miranda says as she looks between Robert and me. I know she has noticed she walked in on something

“Ya I was just checking in on Cora.” He says giving me a hurt look as he walks to the door.

“I will see you later tonight my Sweets” Robert says before leaving and shutting the door behind him.

Before I could even say anything Miranda blurts out. “Okay Cora what the hell was that? Are you hooking up with Robert. Like are you guys together now?”

Fuck….. I don’t even know what that was. How am I supposed to answer that when I don’t even know whats going on between Robert and me. I knew we always had a s****l intension between us; but we are best friends we grew up together. We are not mates and Robert is a womanizer. Always having a different girl. I couldn’t be just another one of his conquest. Plus what if we find out mates. This could ruin our friendship. s**t this just got really complicated. My mind is spinning with some many emotions.

“He is hot and I like his wolf Levi” Star mentions in my mind.

“I know Star; but we can’t he is not our mate.” I say back.

“I know Cora but if we had to pick a chosen mate I would chose Levi. They have always been there for us.” Star says.

“We will talk about this later Star.” I say getting frustrated blocking her out.

“Coraaaa…. Don’t avoid my question.” Miranda says snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Miranda, It is not what you think. We just kissed and I don’t even know what I was thinking letting it happen.” I say looking with a confused look on my face.

“Hey girl, it is okay. Robert is a great guy. I know he really cares about. He always has. I know he was heartbroken when you guys weren’t mates; but I also know that having your mate is the best gift. This is something you should really think about before jumping in. If one of you finds your mates it could end messy.” Miranda says with a sympathetic look.

“I know. That’s why I never acted on these feelings with him. I know we both have mates out there. The moon goddess only knows if we are lucky enough to find them or hopefully they haven’t died in this stupid war.” I say looking broken.

I had decided after this I would not act of these feelings with Robert. Our friendship is worth more to me then the s****l desire we have for each other.

“Well you need to help me look hot for my sexy mate tonight.” Miranda says.

“Really Miranda did you have to say that. Ewww we are talking about my brother. Please keep it PG-13.” I say with a stink face.

“Fine, Fine I will keep it PG but we need to go shopping I need to find something to where tonight.” Miranda says.

“Okay, Let me jump in the shower real fast then we can head into town.” I say grabbing some white lacy underwear some black jeans and a white v-neck I walk into my bathroom. After showering I put on my outfit and put on some simple makeup. Letting my long platinum blonde hair air dry since we will be coming back to get ready for tonight anyways. Once I place my black flat ankle boots on Miranda and I head into town. Let’s hope tonight goes well. I have a bad feeling in my stomach that s**t is going to hit the fan.
