"Now, here is the good news for you." He said.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"You don't need to work at that cafe anymore. I can support you easily now. You can get back to being just John for the remaining year." He said and for some reason, I lost my appetite.
“You mean from now on you're going to pay my bills?”
“I mean I can afford it so yeah . . .” Nathaniel replied.
"But I'm doing fine Nathaniel. I don't want to be dependent on you." I told him and put the plates in the sink. Nathaniel followed me to the kitchen.
"You're not being dependent on me Evans. It's just for the remaining year. After you'll graduate you can work with me and support yourself but for now, it's better if you just focus on school." Nathaniel argued.
