First Meeting 2

Awi's POV.

"Are you okay?" Nicole asked

"Yeah, I'm fine" I said trying to avoid her eyes so she won't know that I'm lying

"So, tell me, are you also a lesbian like the other girls around here?" I asked trying to change the subject

"How about you tell me?" she answered, placing her hands under her chin

"Well, I wouldn't ask if I know the answer. But I hope you're straight 'cause I hate some girl-to-girl kind of thing"

"Ouch! Who hurt you?" she jokingly said but still with a hint of seriousness in her tone

"So, are you?" I asked trying to avoid her question

"And what if I am? Will you go and run away from me? Or feel disgusted?" she replied letting out a smirk in her beautiful face

"I could always make an exemption" I said gazing at the glass of tequila I have in hand and then to her

"Just what happened to you?" she said in a straight voice

Her question hit me, leaving me speechless. Suddenly, a battle between my heart and mind starts round one. Should I answer her or not? I feel comfortable with her so it should be okay to share my bad memories, right? But why can't I open my mouth? Is it because it's always hard to share the memories that you badly want to forget? Is it because these memories keep haunting me and so I refused to speak? Is it because I have to remember everything so that I can share?

"Hey, you don't have to answer it" she said as she noticed my expression

"No, I want to share it with you" I said without really thinking. Just why does my tongue speak by itself whenever I'm talking with this girl

"Okay then, take your time. I'll be here to listen" she said giving me the sweetest smile she has

I pause for a moment trying to remember the memories without having panic attack, thinking for the right words to say. My heartbeat is so loud that I could literally hear it, my hands keep on fidgeting but she held it immediately letting me know that she's just there.

"I was ten years old back then. I was waiting for my friend because we plan to hang out on that day. Suddenly, two ladies came and asked me out and so I told them no but then they started telling me weird stuffs. I know how drunk they were back then but still; I remember how those words made me uncomfortable. They told me they were lesbians and just wanted to have some fun with me. They don't take no for an answer and so I run but then they started to chase me. I run as fast as I can until my visions went black. When I woke up, I was in a hospital, they told me I got hit by a car. Thankfully, the impact is not that great and so there's not much damage in my body. But still, all I could think about that day is how uncomfortable and scared I was."

The vivid memories that I want to forget so bad, always turn transparent whenever I encounter a lesbian. It's hard to live a life like this, I don't want to judge them but I just can't get rid of those memories even though I want to.

"Look, I'm sorry about your past okay. I get it, I really do. But it's just so unfair with the other lesbians out there. Look at them, all they want is to love the person they want to love. Some lesbians make you uncomfortable, I know. But why don't you try to befriend with some other girls out here? Try to get to know them and maybe your perspective will change" she said squeezing my hand that she's holding. I can't help but look her in the eyes and spoke

"Like you?" For a moment there, we just stared at each other feeling the warmth that both of us have. Then suddenly...

"Ahem!"

"b***h where you've been? What have you been doing? Pooped out there or hooked up with some other girls?"

"Easy there Awi Anderburg. I don't think I'm the one who's holding someone's hand don't you think?" Dawn said looking at Nicole and I's intertwined hands which we immediately parted.

"Care to tell me who she is?" Dawn asked as she look between me and Nicole

"Hi. I'm Nicole Tolseva. Nice to meet you. I'm guessing you're her friend?" Nicole said as she reaches out her hand

"Dawn Eaverly Raught" Dawn introduce and accepted Nicole's hand to do a handshake

"Nicole and I just talk some stuffs. Not really a big deal" I said and again let out the most awkward laugh I have. The two look at me strangely so I immediately stop, I think this is the day that I embarrass myself continuously.

"Girl, no need to fuss, it's not like I'm your lover or something" she said and took a sit beside me. She grabs a bottle of beer and took a sip of it.

"I'm actually happy that Awi find a new friend. You know she's basically hard to deal with sometimes." Dawn said to Nicole and give a smile

"What!? Are you abandoning me right now?"

"I didn't say I'm abandoning you, did I?" she said and let out a smirk

"Yeah, that's true. She didn't mention that she'll abandon you." Nicole said and smiled back at Dawn

"Hey! Whose side are you?" I said pouting which made the two chuckles

"So, tell me, what did I miss?" Dawn said raising her eyebrows up and down

My tongue suddenly freezes, I don't know how to answer her. Nicole looks at me and subconsciously asked if she could answer in behalf of me. I simply nodded and give her a smile.

"Your friend her was got hit on by one of the customers who doesn't know how to stop" she said

"No s**t! Who's the girl? I'll give her a lesson" Dawn said as she jolts up from her seat

"Dawn, it's fine. Nicole saved me" I said

She calmed down at my response and asked for apology. Ever since the incident, Dawn was always there for me, she always makes sure that I'm safe and that the same incident won't happen again, that's why I understand why she reacted that way.

"Thank you. You're really a nice person. Can I get your number and maybe hang out sometimes?" Dawn asked offering her phone to Nicole

"Seriously!? Are you hitting on her right now?" I asked looking so pissed

"Girl chillax. I'm straight. Why do you even care if I ask for her number? Are you jealous that your new friend here is giving it to me instead of giving it to you?" Dawn said in a playful tone

"Dawn Eaverly, that is damn not so funny!"

"Awi, relax. I just really wanna hang out okay. You know it's always just the two of us so why not make it three to make it more fun. Plus, she saved you. I just want to give a proper thank you."

"Please don't mind her Nicole, I think she's just drunk" I said and smiled awkwardly

"What!? I didn't even have that much of a drink" she defended

"There's no problem. Actually, I don't really have a lot of friends so I think I can hang out with the two of you sometimes" she said as she handed Dawn back her phone, giving us her sweetest smile. Damn! Those lips look so soft, why can't my lips be like hers? But why am I even thinking about her lips?

A sudden ringtone then brings me back from my thoughts.

"Oh s**t! I think we need to go now. It's getting late already" Dawn said fixing her eyes at her phone

"What? But we're still having fun and you just got here" I said disappointed

"I know, I'm sorry. My mom already called me"

"I thought you asked for permission?" I asked

"Yes. But I didn't say I would be home so late. It's already midnight, we better go home or get killed at 1am" she said

"Fine! Well then, I guess we'll see you soon" I said looking at the bartender and give her a smile

"Sure. See you soon sweetie" she said and smiled back at us.
