Just A Talk With You

1098 Words
Cheska's POV.   What happened yesterday, keeps popping up on my mind. I mean, I already knew that she's a lesbian but seeing her kissed another girl just didn't come to mind. I don't know why I'm feeling like this. All I ever wanted is for her to come back and take me as her best friend just like before.   "I'll be back at dinner," she said from afar and hopped on her blue SUV. Before she could even start the engine, I blocked her way, making her hopped off her car.   "What are you doing out here?" she asked furrowing her eyebrows   "Aren't you going to ask me how I'm doing these past few days?" I asked her   "Nicole Tolseva" I added   "Please, don't block the way, Cheska," she said, letting out a sigh between her sentence   "Can we just talk?" I said desperately for some connection   "There's nothing left to talk about"   "Look, I'm sorry okay? But it's not like I'm the only one who's at fault here" I said as she started to open her car   "You're the one who ended up our friendship" I added which made her paused for a moment. She then looked at me in the eyes and said   "But you're the one who changes"   Awi's POV.   "What's your problem?" Dawn asked, sitting in her chair   "Nothing," I said, looking back and forth at my phone   "Ugh! I'm totally in trouble right now" I added, messing up my hair   "If you're in so much trouble then tell me so that I can help. Don't just look at your phone and wait for something to pop up. Tell me, did someone ghosted you again?" she asked, cutting her long nails   "She's not responding to any of my texts!" I blurted   "Can you please be more specific?"   "It's Nicole, okay? She's not responding to any of my texts. I feel so guilty right now"   "Calm yourself, baby girl, maybe she's at work, busy serving the customers"   I just let out a sigh and look at my phone, waiting for some message to pop up.   "Why, do you ever feel guilty?"   "I kissed her," I said, being direct not caring about my friend's reaction   "Make sense," she said as she shrugs her shoulder but immediately drops on the floor when she realized what I just said   "Y-you did WHAT!?" she said finally facing me with an unbelievable look in her eyes   "I was impulsive, I know but I-I-I didn't mean to. I mean, a lot of things happened, and then, I said I don't like her, and then, and then I ugh! I don't know okay? I don't know what to do anymore!" I said, pulling my hair   "Wait, wait, wait, wait. Let me clear things up. So you kissed her?" she asked, staring at me   "Uh uh" I nodded   "Then you said, you don't like her?" she asked, confused   "What should I do?"   "What did she say? I mean, is she okay with it or anything or what?" she asked, telling me to spill the tea   "She said it was fine. She knew that I was just trying to help"   I can't even explain how Dawn's eyes look at me. Her eyes show disappointment, who would not?   "Awi, what do you mean it's okay? And since when did kissing became a gesture of help"   "A b***h is making her uncomfortable, I have to do something. Which is making her think that Nicole is unavailable"   "Yes. But where's the freaking consent from Nicole? You kissed her out of the blue when you're not even her girlfriend"   There it goes again. My heart itch for some unknown reasons.   "How am I supposed to know about some freakin' consent! Look, I want to make it right Dawn, believe me. But she's not responding to any of my messages"   "Then what are you doing here? Go and look for her at the bar she's working."   Dawn is right. How come I didn't think about it. When the sun starts to set and the moon rises, I find myself standing in front of this club where I first met Nicole. If I were, to be honest, I still feel uncomfortable being in this kind of place. But I guess, I need to face it since I'm the one who was at fault here. I walk straight at the counter and search for her, sadly there's no sign of Nicole Tolseva in this place   "Would you like to order miss?" A bartender asked   "I'm looking for Nicole Tolseva. Is she here?"   "I'm sorry but she's not. She's off duty today" she said, giving me an apologetic smile   "No, no, it's fine, you don't need to apologize. Thank you for your time" I replied, giving her back a faint smile   "Let me serve you a drink though, my treat"   Her smile is so radiant that I can't even say no to her offer. Fair enough, I also feel like drinking. Things with Nicole have just gone, I don't know, mess up I guess. Maybe I'm just overthinking but what should I do, she didn't even bother to pick up when I called her.   "Do you want me to call her?" the bartender asked   "Thanks but no."   "Okay then," she said, typing something in her phone   I continue drinking the bottle of beer in front of me, not giving a single care in my surroundings. This is not the right place to drink for someone who has some traumatic past like me, but who cares. I don't even care what kind of club is this or who's their target customers. all I want is to dive myself into this drink   "Are you her girlfriend?" she asked   "What?" I asked, confused   "Nicole Tolseva. Are you her girlfriend?"   "What! Ha! You're funny" I said chuckling   "And I think you're drunk"   "Pfft, no, I'm not. I'm fine"   "So tell me, did Nicole broke up with you?"   "Pfft. broke up!?'   "We're not even in a relationship" I added, lowering my voice and looked away from her   "Why don't you go to this place? Sober up and then go home. This place is safe, I'll tell you the directions" she said smiling, showing me a beautiful picture of a place near the ocean   The place looks nice just by looking at it in the picture. I don't know why but I feel like my feet want to go in there, so I took up her offer and listened to the directions she has given me. "Thanks, what's your name by the way?" "Smilyn," she said and smiled
