The Party

Nicole's POV.

The relaxing breeze welcomed me as I went outside our house. The sweet aroma of flowers keeps getting closer as I get nearer the park. What a lovely sight is is to be part of a beautiful background. When I found a bench, I immediately took a sit on it, tapping my toes in the fallen leaves that were scattered on the ground

"Hey Nicole, you called me?" said by a familiar voice who took a sit beside me

"Oh, thank you for coming here, Dawn" I said looking at her and give her a smile

"So, what do you want to talk about?" Dawn asked cutting to the chase

"Yeah, about that. A friend of mine is having her birthday party tomorrow and she was so happy when she found out about you and Awi. She really wants to meet you guys and so I called you here to give you the invitation cards. Please be there." I pout and handed her the two invitation cards that was in my purse.

"How about you and Awi just go and leave me out? I mean, it would be nice to know that the two of you are having a good time plus it's a chance to get to know about each other, right?" she said and let out a smirk as her eyebrows raises up and down

"It's not liked that okay. I also want you to be there and besides, if you won't go to the party then Awi won't go as well" I explained

She looked at me with a tease in her eyes which I don't really get. Just what does she think is going on between me and Awi for her to act like this? But nevertheless, I still like how goofy she can be.

"I told you, it's not like that silly. Just please go to the party with Awi. I mean, I don't really wanna go but my friend will be upset once she finds out that I'm not gonna be there in her special day. It's been so long since we last seen each other. At least give me company, please? I really just need someone to be there with. If you won't go, Awi won't go then I won't have someone whom I can go with to the party and I assure you, there will be a total chaos if I'm alone" I pouted, letting the fear that I feel be visible in my eyes

"Relax, what are you even afraid of? It's not liked your ex will gonna be there" she said which taken me aback

"So, your ex will be there" she said confirming her previous statement

"No, she's not my ex. Well, more likely an ex best friend of mine. It would really be the end of me if I see her out there. I mean, I don't know what to do, we haven't talk ever since the incident in my senior years. She probably would make an effort to talk to me but I'm not ready yet. I don't even want to see her in the first place." I spoke

"Fine then. Have you told Awi about this party?"

"Yes. That's why I told you, she will only come if you're there with her. So please be there. The party will start at 8pm, I have work tomorrow afternoon so I'll just catch up with you guys. We'll meet in front of the house" I said sparing her the details

Dawn's POV.

"Eaverly, better hurry up or we'll be late for the party" she said knocking the door of my bathroom

"Fine. I'm done" I said letting my voice echoed outside

"Are you that excited to be at a party?" I added after opening the door of my bathroom

"Of course, I am! Dawn, it's a freaking party!!! Finally, I will be able to find my knight in this beautiful night" she said rhyming the words knight and night

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. Now, let's go" I said grabbing my purse that lies on the bed

"By the way, have you told Nicole that we're on our way?" I asked her while fixing the strap of my sandals

"Yup. And she said she's almost there at the venue, so we should also hurry up!" she said popping the p in yup

A few hours later, we arrive at a mansion which can obviously make your jaw drop. It's a black painted house with a lot of astonishing lights outside. The three of us then went inside, we put our gifts in a wide table and proceed to greet the other guests.

"Damn, Nicole. I didn't know you have a sugar mommy" I said, astonished by the lights that were scattered around the area

"Yeah, I kinda feel uncomfortable. I mean, all the guests here must be from big companies" Awi added

"Come on, you guys. Sky's family is so humble. And for your information, most of the guests here are farmers and fishermen" Nicole proudly said

"Well, that's new" I said

"Nuh, not actually new for me. Auntie and Uncle's mindset is just so great ever since the beginning. They once said to me that the richest people in this world are the farmers and fishermen but sad to say they become underrated because of government's abusive power" Nicole said, offering us a glass of champagne that she got from the waiter who passed us by. They even have a waiter for this party!

"Nicole!!!" a girl wearing a sky-blue dress shouted happily, running towards Nicole and give her a tight hug

"I'm so glad you made it!" she said letting her dimples become visible

"Of course! You would be upset if I haven't made it. Happy Birthday" Nicole said and give the lady a kiss on the cheek

"Where is Xavier?" Nicole asked

"He can't make it. His flight got delayed because of some misunderstanding in his schedules" the lady answered, disappointed

"What a bummer. Then, let me introduce you to my new found friends. This is Dawn Eaverly" she said pointing at me "And this is Awi Anderburg" she added and point at Awi who's standing right beside me

"Guys, this is Sky Valdez. A friend of mine since senior years" Nicole said pointing at the fine young lady who's in front of us

"It's such a pleasure to meet the two of you" she said as she reach out her hand for a handshake

"So, where did you guys met?" she added

"Oh, we met at the ba..." before Awi could even finish her sentence, Nicole cut her off

"We met at one of my mother's banquet" Nicole said

"Just when did we become so rich that we can afford to be on a banquet and met there?" Awi whispered

"Just go with the flow, we don't know yet why she said that" I whispered back

"Oh, it's very new of you to accompany your mom in some of her banquets" Sky said smiling at her

"Anyway, I have to go and greet some other guests. Catch you guys later?" she added and let her dimples become visible again

"Sure, take your time birthday girl" Nicole said giving her the same energy

Right after Sky was out of our sight, Awi and I immediately give Nicole a questioning look.

"What was that all about?" I said, confused

"She doesn't know that I'm working in a lesbian club or even the fact that I'm a lesbian. And I prefer if she doesn't know it yet?" she answered, questioning her last sentence

"Now, that makes sense" Awi said and shrug her shoulder

"Hey guys, let's go to the pool. I see a lot of young man around there. Maybe I should take my chance" Awi added with a hint of excitement in her tone.

"You two can go ahead, I'm a little bit hungry so I'll just grab some bites here" I said

"Okay, suit yourself. Let's go now, Nicole" Awi said, dragging Nicole with her.
