  Lunch went by rapidly. Griffin and I mostly spoke about when I was young. I told him about my father that had to help me find a dress for prom, how he would choose a dress that looks like I’m going to a funeral. I could see every time he had to help me with something that only a mother can do, that he misses my mother, but he never complained. Griffin listens to me and made no rude remarks about how the servers take long or the small place that is older than him. I can get used to Griffin being supportive, but that will only break my heart again the moment we’re back in New York. I turn off my conscience and try not to think about the future, just now. My thoughts get interrupted by Griffin’s phone ringing on the table, and just like that, the mood changes the moment Monica’s name appear
