Once a broken pot

Six days, all Husuella had done was to ignore him and it was driving him insane. As a slave he had expected to be called on frequently, to be ordered around or something but as it turned out, could be she didn’t know how to e*****e someone or maybe she was actually more good at it that he thought. He wanted to pretend that he was a free man but deep down he knew he was mentally and emotionally enslaved and he had to admit that somehow it was more draining than real enslavement even if he had never been enslaved. The anxiety and expectations which she kept crushing, he would sit in his office and expect her to come in and order him but she was behaving like she had even forgotten. Somehow had started being jealous of his little sister because she spent most of her time with her, he had even thought of sending her to a boarding school less for the fact that he couldn’t stand not knowing how she was everyday. He walked out of his office towards the conference room all the while expecting something and sighed in disdain. Being in the same room with this people suddenly seemed worse than being locked up in a closet. Ten minutes into the meeting he received a message and picked up his phone. “Ten minutes,” was she mad, he was in the middle of a meeting “I checked and that partnership benefits them more so they can come back later,” he looked at the second message then at the gentlemen in the room. He was planning to invest in their organisations and this has always been a strain as he had do a proper background check. “Gentlemen, something important came up, well have to reschedule, ill get in touch,” he said and walked out of the room. “What is so pressing that you…” he stopped in his trucks, she was sitting in his chair huddled up and she was, he swallowed hard and in a few swift strides, he lifted her off the chair and sat holding her in his arms as she let all hell loose on his shirt. He called and ordered his former secretary to clear his schedule and decided to take her home. He called for his car to be brought upfront carried her out of the building. For the major part of it he used the private elevator and threw mean looks at everyone who tried to look his way. He was covering her face with his coat as he couldn’t take any chance with journalists. When a flash of light came his way as he put her into his passenger seat, he couldn’t have been any grateful for the cloth covering her face. Soon he drove out of the building and ordered his driver to go pick his Gogiana later. Reaching home, he held her hand and led her to the back of the house which had a beautiful H-shaped pool and an extraordinary flower garden with tall trees in between and a paved pathway that led to the man made forest. “When that pool was designed I didn’t know yoor name had the H,” he said making her smile and lean her head on him. “I could carry you if you want,” he offered his services as a loyal slave but she declined. She preffered to walk all the way to clear her head. “Gogiana is really lucky to have you,” she said as they approached the carbin. Kayden hadnt realised they had walked that far, that was almost half a kilometer into the forest. It was located a few meters towards the edge of the forest and he had to admit this people did a good job. There were three more cabins at different parts of the forest with paved footpath leading to them from this first cabin. His father had an obsession with nature and he even wanted to fence the forest and place wild animals but the corns outweighed and he decided to design and make cabins instead. Kayden looked up and smiled when he saw the little tree house his father had made him at the back of this cabin. He was planning to reinnovate it and give it to his little sister. That cabin had been his little sanctuary growing up and it was filled with some of the best memories from after his mother had left them. During the time, his father had just bought this place and had planned to surprise his mother by building her a home before he told her he had started his own company and was doing well but he never got to because she took off that same year. He walked husuella into the cabin and sat her on the bed at the corner before informing Jojita to take care of the little one since they warent coming home today, he also organised for dinner to be brought then looked at her and smiled, “What may I do for you mistress?” he said making her frown then it hit her “I prefer to be called master though, would you hold me just for now,” she requested but it sounded more like an order. “once upon a time there was a naïve good girl who went to campus, she found love and being the naïve little one, she gave her heart to the man she thought would take care of it. As time went by she noticed she had made a mistake because soon enoughhe seemed to not care anymore, he broke her heart into two pieces and slowly by slowly shattered it into a few more pieces. Then she met someone who promised her heaven on earth, stupid her believed him. Unlike the happily ever after she had expected, he promised to mend her heart and she took her heart and handed it to him on a silver platter. He didn’t disappoint her, he did mend it and slowly there was only a scar left and she was happy, he fullfilled his promises. Slowly she started to believe she had found her happily ever after but then one day without notice, he started scratching the scared surface. Soon it was bleeding but she told herself it was a stage, she believed that soon he would stop and as time passed, he didn’t stop, instead he started stabbing it slowly, then it was bleeding. It was too exciting and fun to stop, it developed into a habit, it was a game where her feelings were the dummy. She willed and wished him to stop but he couldn’t, every night she cried her heart out. He scratched and scratched and stabbed until it was broken. Then the pain got too much and she was slowly dying inside and she couldn’t take it anymore, she wanted to rip it off, stomp on it and make everything end but she couldn’t, buttered and bruised, she picked the scattered pieces, her buttered ego and walked away. She promised to never let anyone do that to her again ever, maybe her happilly ever after was out there, somewhere in the skies waiting on her. and slowly, one piece at a time she fixed her broken pieces until they were healed. There were scars but nobody would ever get close enough to know unless she completely trusted you.” Husuella said and looked away in the far off distance. Kayden watched her closely as he digested what she had said, who would do that to anyone, then it hit him “And that innocent naïve little girl was you,” he whispered and he didn’t need an answer. “Today, I saw her and everything came rushing back, he chose her over me, and I couldn’t take it,” she told him as tears started streaming down her cheeks, “Am I that bad?” she asked looking into his eyes as if willing him to say yes. “Well I I would say no but that would be a lie, am glad he saw the bad in you because to me you are terrific and its his loss,” he said gently wipping away her tears with his thumb. She leaned further into him and couldn’t help but smile when he went on discusing every bad quality he liked about her, how irritating she was which he actually found amazing, how she looked cute when she was mad and wanted to yell but she couldn’t. they spent the rest of the day talking about random things. That day as they took dinner, Kayden kept observing her, “Did he compare you to her?” he asked making her suddenly freeze and he needed no further answers. “That is why you don’t appreciate being compared to others, that’s why you hate being compared to others so much,” he said and looked into her eyes making her look away feeling uneasy. “I always hated being compared to others even as a little girl but it intensified in campus, soon I developed a dislike for it and would run away from every job where I was compared to other employees,” she admitted feeling ashamed, maybe instead of running away like a corwad she could have stayed and dealt with it like every other person. “Well am glad that you did because I met you,” he said smiling making her jerk her head to look at him in shock. What kind of teacher could he make? The one who would reward his students for bad behaviour? For once since she had met him she was glad he was not a teacher. Looking at him, her heart flattered. It seemed crazy but she wanted to know, soon her curiosity increased and she couldn’t hold it in. “If i… never mind,” she said giving up. What she wanted to ask suddenly seemed really clingy, he wasn’t even her boyfriend yet. What was the defination of what they had anyway? She swallowed hard and looked away. “If you what?” Kayden asked curious, what did she want to say? Was she fine, what was she anxious about? “Its not important, so how was your day,” she asked hoping to divert the topic but Kayden seemed not to be buying any of it. “it was alright I guess, for most parts of it, you know you can always talk to me right?” he asked making her nod. Silence fell between them, Kayden wondering what was going on in her mind while husuella grew impatient, she really wanted to find out but she didn’t know how to approach it without seeming clingy. She tried hard to hold it in, she wished he could say something but the silence wasn’t helping. “I, I… she swallowed hard I am scared of going through that again, falling in love scares me so much that I always push away every man I seem to like and am scared that I cant stop myself from doing so,” she admitted and looked into his eyes. The fact that there was a possibility that she could have feelings for him excited him but the thought that she could push him away and forget about him scared him. The fact that his little sister was already refering to her as mum bothered him the most but he didn’t want to show her his fears, all she needed right now was his support and not his paranoia. “Come here,” he whispered as he pulled her into his arms cradling her head on his chest, “I am scared too but I know that am willing to make this work, we can get through our fears together,” he said and felt her smile against his chest, she stayed like that for a few minutes then whispered a thank you as Diana walked in with dinner, she later learnt her husband and her were the ones who took care of the cabins.
