Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon was still sleeping. The crowing of the rooster resounding on both sides of the city already announced the sunrise. The air was fresh, pure, breathable. It was barely 6 a.m. and noise was already being heard in some households in the city. This was the case in Deido, one of the neighborhoods of the town where a little family of six lived: the MBUNYA family. Their house had three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, a veranda and a small courtyard all located in a gate out of sight at Deido Plage.
The father Mr. John MBUNYA 48 from North West Cameroon was about to go to work. Indeed, he is a law enforcement officer (police commissioner). Hurry up my darlings we are going to be late! Daddy is already waiting for us in the car. Said Mrs. MBUNYA 37. She is a seamstress. The MBUNYA couple had four children: Andrea 9, Jack 7, Precious 5 and Kingsley 3 years old. At 1 p.m. Mrs. MBUNYA went back home and start to cook food for her family. The children also came at 2:30 p.m. from school.
- Mummy, mummy ! They said running to come and meet her.
- I’m in the kitchen ! How was your day ?
- Good ! They said.
- Go and remove your uniforms.
They took their baths, ate and took a rest. At around 4 p.m. they woke up, did their homework and told their mom about their day. In the evening, Mr. MBUNYA back spent time with them before going to bed. They lived all in harmony, peace and joy.
MBUNYA Andrea the eldest was 9 years old. Fair-skinned like her father, was in Class 5. She is a sweet, kind, caring little girl who cares about the well-being of others. She took care of her brothers in the absence of her mother despite her young age. She was loved and appreciated by all. Seven year old Jack was in Class 3, Precious in Class 1 and Kingsley in Nursery.
