Third-Person Perspective The next Monday morning felt like a fresh start for Ethan. The weekend had passed in a blur, and although his thoughts kept drifting back to Ava, he was determined to focus on settling in. He walked into the classroom, greeted by the hum of students chatting with each other. His eyes scanned the room for a familiar face, but as usual, he found himself alone. “Ethan, right?” a voice called out from behind him. Ethan turned around to see a tall, lanky guy with messy black hair and a big grin. He was holding a coffee cup in one hand and a stack of notebooks in the other. “Yeah, that’s me,” Ethan replied, offering a smile. “You’re…?” “Jasper,” the guy said, extending a hand. “I’m in your history class. We sit near each other, right?” Ethan shook his hand, glad to finally make a connection. “Yeah, I think so.” “Great! You’re the new kid, right?” Jasper asked, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, we’ll get you settled in. You’re not the only one who’s new. You’ve probably seen Lila, right? She’s the one with the blonde curls and the constant energy.” Ethan chuckled. “Yeah, I’ve seen her around.” Jasper grinned. “She’s a handful, but she’s cool. She’s in our group. We sit together during lunch, and she won’t let you sit anywhere else, trust me.” Ethan laughed, feeling a bit more at ease. “Sounds good.” As the bell rang, signaling the start of class, they both headed to their seats. Ethan was still trying to figure out where he fit in, but with Jasper’s friendly demeanor, it seemed like he might just be starting to find his place. First-Person Perspective (Ava’s View) The moment I walked into the classroom, I noticed Ethan. He was sitting at his desk, chatting with Jasper. I couldn’t help but feel a little... curious. It was strange, seeing him so relaxed with someone. He looked different when he wasn’t all tense and unsure of himself. I glanced at my friends, Lila and Jenna, who were already talking about the weekend plans. Lila was always full of energy, her blonde curls bouncing as she spoke animatedly. Jenna, on the other hand, was quieter, but she had a way of making you feel like everything was okay, even when it wasn’t. “You’re staring again,” Jenna whispered, nudging me with her elbow. I blinked, realizing I’d been watching Ethan for a bit too long. “What? No, I wasn’t,” I said, quickly looking away. Lila raised an eyebrow. “Sure you weren’t. You know, I saw you look at him during lunch on Friday.” I felt my cheeks flush. “I wasn’t looking at him,” I muttered, trying to hide my embarrassment. Jenna smiled softly. “It’s okay, Ava. You can talk to him if you want. He’s just a guy.” But for some reason, it didn’t feel that simple. Ethan wasn’t just any guy. There was something about him that made me want to know more. Third-Person Perspective The class passed by in a blur of notes and textbooks. Ethan tried to focus, but his mind kept wandering. Every now and then, he’d glance over at Ava. She was talking with her friends, but every so often, their eyes would meet. For just a second, it felt like they were the only two people in the room. As the bell rang for the next period, Ethan grabbed his things and headed out into the hallway. He was just about to walk into his next class when he bumped into Lila, who was practically bouncing on her feet. “Ethan! Hey!” she said, her eyes sparkling. “You’re coming with us to lunch, right?” Ethan blinked, surprised. “Uh, sure. I guess so.” Lila grinned and grabbed his arm. “Great! We’re sitting outside today. The weather’s too nice to be stuck inside.” Ethan followed her, still trying to process everything. As they made their way to the cafeteria, Lila introduced him to a few more of her friends: Sarah, a quiet girl who always had a book in hand, and Marcus, a guy with a sarcastic sense of humor who was always cracking jokes. “You’re lucky,” Marcus said with a grin. “You get to sit with the coolest group at school. I mean, we’ve got Lila’s energy, Sarah’s wisdom, and my charm. What more could you ask for?” Ethan couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m not sure if I’m ready for all this energy.” Lila winked. “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.” As they sat down outside, Ethan felt a sense of warmth. This was the first time he’d actually felt like he belonged. The group was easygoing, and their conversation flowed effortlessly. Lila talked about everything and nothing, while Sarah added her two cents whenever she felt like it. Marcus kept things light with his jokes, and even though Ethan wasn’t used to this kind of dynamic, it felt... good. First-Person Perspective (Ava’s View) I watched them from across the courtyard. Ethan. He was sitting with Lila, Marcus, and Sarah, laughing at something Marcus had said. There was something about the way he smiled that made me feel like maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t as out of place as I’d thought. I wasn’t sure why, but I felt this tug in my chest. I wanted to go over there, to talk to him, but I didn’t know how. It felt too... weird. Lila caught my eye and waved, her face lighting up with her usual enthusiasm. “Ava! Come sit with us!” I hesitated for a moment before walking over. “Hey,” I said, offering a small smile. Lila grinned. “We were just talking about how you’ve been staring at Ethan all week.” I froze, my heart racing. “What?” “Don’t worry,” Lila said, winking. “We’re just messing with you. But seriously, if you like him, just talk to him.” I felt my cheeks flush again. “I don’t like him,” I said quickly, but even as I said it, I knew it wasn’t true. I didn’t know what it was, but there was something about Ethan that made me feel... different. Third-Person Perspective As the days passed, Ethan found himself getting more comfortable. He had lunch with Lila and the group every day, and slowly, he started to fit in. He wasn’t the new kid anymore. He was just... Ethan. The guy who was starting to feel like he belonged. But every time he saw Ava, something in his chest tightened. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he knew one thing for sure: he wanted to know her better.
