Heather didn’t have time to be distracted by her phone. It sounded once. Then twice. Then three times in quick succession. “Stop texting me,” she growled, swiping the phone off her desk and silencing it without looking at any of the texts. If she was going to get her sub plans out, get packed, and get over to Austin before dark, she didn’t have time to be texting. She missed Levi something terrible. It was almost as if he’d left a huge hole in her life that couldn’t be filled with work, chocolate, friends, or tending to her cats. Those were her fall back activities whenever the loneliness got to be too much, whenever she’d broken up with someone and had to start living by herself again.
