Some farewells we choose… And some farewells we are forced into… They arrive with the weight of mountains, while we receive them with broken hearts. But life never pauses to mourn with us… it keeps moving forward… Leaving us no choice but to follow… while our souls remain trapped in what we lost. Cairo, Egypt – 2016 Baron Palace The palace that was once filled with laughter had become a house of mourning. Only hours ago, the funeral of Omar El Baron had ended. The youngest son of the Baron family… dead in a tragic plane crash. Silence now ruled the palace. Adham El Baron stood alone in the vast hall after the last mourner left. His shoulders were heavy with responsibility and grief. His mother, Lily, sat nearby with red, exhausted eyes. Adham approached her gently and held her hands. “Be patient, Mother,” he said softly. “Everything belongs to Allah… and to Him we return.” Tears rolled down her cheeks. “My heart was uneasy about this trip, Adham… I felt something was wrong… as if it was the last time I would see him.” Adham closed his eyes briefly, trying to control the pain rising in his chest. “Carmen is in the hospital,” Lily continued weakly. “She collapsed when she heard the news.” Adham’s expression hardened for a moment. “Tomorrow,” he said quietly, “we’ll go see her.” But inside… his heart was already there. Hospital – The Same Night Carmen lay unconscious on the hospital bed, her pale face drained of color. Her mother, Maryam, sat beside her silently, watching her daughter breathe with difficulty after the shock of losing her husband. The doctor had called it a severe nervous breakdown. Maryam whispered through tears: “May Allah give you strength, my daughter…” The Next Morning – 7:45 AM The hospital corridor was quiet. Adham stood outside Carmen’s room. For a long moment… he didn’t move. Then slowly, he opened the door. Inside, Carmen lay sleeping weakly, her face pale, her eyelashes still wet from tears she had shed even in her sleep. Adham’s chest tightened painfully. He took a step closer… then another. For years he had forced himself to stay away from her. Because she belonged to his brother. Because loving her had always been forbidden. But now… His brother was gone. Adham clenched his fists. “I chose your happiness over mine,” he whispered softly, his voice breaking. “And I would do it again… if it meant protecting you.” Carmen stirred slightly in her sleep. Adham immediately stepped back. Before she could open her eyes… he turned and left the room silently. Later That Day Adham stood in front of his brother’s grave. The wind moved quietly through the cemetery. His voice was barely audible. “Forgive me, Omar…” A tear slipped down his face. “I tried to forget her… I really did.” He lowered his head. “But my heart never listened.” One Week Later Carmen finally returned home. The room she once shared with her husband now felt painfully empty. Every corner carried memories. She slowly walked toward the bedside table and picked up a photograph of them together. Her fingers trembled. “Why did you leave me…?” she whispered through tears. “I can’t live without you…” She fell onto the bed, clutching the photo tightly as exhaustion pulled her into a restless sleep. Meanwhile Inside his office at El Baron Design, Adham listened in silence as the family lawyer spoke. “There is something you must know, Mr. Adham,” the lawyer said seriously. “Omar left a will… and it contains very specific conditions.” Adham frowned. “What conditions?” The lawyer hesitated before answering. “The will must be read in the presence of you… your mother… Carmen… and Malek.” Adham leaned back slowly in his chair. A strange unease settled in his chest. “What kind of will requires all of us?” The lawyer’s expression darkened slightly. “You’ll understand… when it’s opened.” Somewhere Else Murad lowered the phone slowly, a dangerous smile spreading across his face. “So… Omar is dead.” He looked at a photograph in his hand. A picture of Carmen. “I was ready to destroy everything to take you…” he murmured. His eyes darkened with obsession. “But fate has made things easier for me.” He leaned back in his chair. “Soon… you’ll be mine.” Cliffhanger Ending Three days later… Inside Baron Palace. The entire family gathered in the main hall. The lawyer placed a sealed envelope on the table. “Omar El Baron’s last will.” Adham felt a strange tension in the air. The lawyer slowly opened the document. Then he read the first line. And suddenly… Adham froze. Carmen’s eyes widened in shock. Because the will said: “For my daughter Malak to inherit my fortune… Carmen must marry my brother, Adham El Baron.”
