DEREK'S POV

My friends and myself decided to hang out at a seafood grill near the coast line just outside of town, and as a very good boyfriend I called Dianna my girlfriend. She told me that her friend Raven, her friend, works there now and she would be giving her a ride to go there. My that girl sure has tons of Job around. I wonder if she ever sleeps. So we decided to go there separately. I was with my friends when another phone call rang and I did not expect that it was my cousin Caius.

"Cai?" I questioned.

"Derek..." He answered coldy.

"Cai!!! Long time no see! How are you man? " I said.

"I'm in town. Wanna meet up?" He replied.

"Sure man! When?"I asked.

"Now, would be great. I have many things to discuss with you." He informed.

"Well... right now..." I dragged, trying to explain that I wasn't available and had plans already.

"What? Are you busy or something?" He said.

"Well... I kinda have plans to hang out with friends and, you know, my girlfriend." I explained.

"Oho... This little brat already has a girlfriend.Well, it would be great if I could meet her. So I guess we will go with you then." He began to insist on the idea of letting him and others come with us.

"Hey! We are only two years apart, you know." I said matter of factly.

"But still your younger though. So where are you hanging out?" He asked.

"Just a seafood grill near the coastline outside of town." I replied, knowing I really did not have a choice but to let him come with. This guy really does not take no for an answer. Maybe it goes with being a royal, I guess.

OK, before you imagine something or anything at all. Yes, Caius is the only son of the royal family and not just any kind of family, but The Royal Family of werewolves. Me, as his cousin, well, I am of royal blood too. Werewolves are mythical creatures that only existed in tales form that humans used to tell their children to be careful not to go to the woods.We are more powerful when it comes to speed and strength when we are still in our human form. But by the time we get our wolves, we are able to shapeshit into them and our abilities of super senses of smell, sight, speed, and strength are all heightened.Most common werewolves get to shapeshift at the age of 16 or 18, but we of royal blood get to have our wolves earlier than that. I got mine when I was 12, his name is Caine. A big, brown colored wolf with green eyes like mine.Caine and I work as a team. Whatever the other wants to do, we do it together. I don't really like palace life, I just want to live as a normal teenager, and Caine as a wolf, is was having difficulty accepting that I want to leave the pack, but I told him not permanently, I jst want to know what's out there.

I decided to leave the pack on the excuse of studying,I aaplied at a public school for human at a small town near a typical country. It was a really tough decision to make, especially with my parents, but I insisted and promised that nothing bad is going to happen to me while I am outside the protection of the pack. As you know, wolves can't survive alone without a pack. It is their way to survive. They protect one another from any forces that would harm the pack. Normal werewolves get their inner wolves at the age of 16 or 18, with the exemption of the werewolves with royal blood. We can get our inner wolf counterparts as early as 10. As for my case 12. Cai on the other hand, is quite special, considering he is from the direct royal bloodline and an alpha. He got his wolf Roahan at an early age of 8. He is the youngest to have a wolf, which means the youngest ever to train with them.

The earlier you get your wolf, the more training you have, which means the more time you work on your powers and abilities. Well, enough of that, let's focus on the now, shall we?

"OK, see you there. Oh! And Milo and Liam are with me." He said

"OK, I'll see you guys later, then." I hung up and drove myself and my friends to the meet-up place.

As soon as I parked my car by the window, I saw my girl smiling and waving at us, urging us to come and hurry. Moon Goddess thank you for giving me a mate as beautiful and sweet as her. She is perfect in ways I can't even describe properly. I knew she was my mate the moment I saw her on her very first day at school. Apparently, she just transferred. Goddess the way her red hair waves through the wind, it was just breath-taking and I couldn't help but be drawn to her. The next thing I know I was right in front of her, just staring like a fish out of water. I was just captivated by her. I couldn't help but reach out my hand to touch those rosy cheeks. Just as I was about to touch her, someone grabbed my hand and twisted it on my back. I was taken aback for awhile. I maneuvered my way out of that person's grip, but apparently she maneuvered it yet again and threw me over her shoulders and... THUD!

"OK, that was unexpected." I whispered.

"OMG Raven!" My mate shouted.

"Are you OK?" She asked and I thought she was asking about me. But...

"Yeah I'm fine. Are you? Did he touch you anywhere?" The girl Raven asked. I can tell she really cares about my mate. It kinda made me smile a little knowing there was another person willing to protect her.

"Well... yeah... I was just...." My mate told this Raven girl, trying not to look at me, emphasis on trying. I can tell she is attracted to me. I can sense that the mate bond is slowly taking form. The girl, Raven, noticed that my mate kept stealing glances at me and moved forward to confront me.

"You... whatever your plans on Dianna are, you'd better think twice about it." She said, with authority I might add. Sheesh, this girl sure knows what she is doing. So Dianna is my mate's name. It suits her. Fast forward, that was the unforgettable first encounter of me, my mate and her friend. As we were about to enter, I saw a black hummer car, and knew that it was Caius and company. I decided to wait for them by the door.

"Well, see you match this place good brother." Cai smiled and brotherly hugged me.

"Good to see you brother. So how's everything back at home?" I asked.

"All good bro, all good," he replied.

"Looks like our youngest is living a carefree life." Milo laughed and hugged me too.

"Milo, How are you doing man? " I said right back.

"Same-ol, same-ol bro." he replied.

"Liam, nice to see your still as tight (meaning cold) as ever". I offered my hand for him to shake but decided to hug him instead.

"Nice to see you too Derek." he replied.

"So what brings you guys all the way out here man?" I asked.

"Let's talk about that later when it's just us" Caius said.

"We kinda just got here and we are starving man, just let's get inside and eat. Cuz this buddy right here (pointing at his stomach) has been grumbling like hours ago." Milo whinned.

"So, where is this mate of yours? I can't wait to meet her." Caius said and I knew he was gonna flip that my mate is a human.I rubbed my neck nervously and...

"Relax bro, I know she is human. You met her here of all places, it's a given she is human." Cais said.

"Don't worry bro much changed since you left. That is one of the reason we are here in the first place." Milo informed.

I sigh in relief but can't help but wonder what really is their agenda coming here human territory.
