SARGIS’S POV I listened attentively. And as she poured her heart out to me, as her voice shook with truth and pain and courage, my heart clenched. If only she knew… If only she knew I’d already seen the bruises life had dealt her. That I’d pieced together her scars long before she ever voiced them aloud. If only she knew how little I cared about what she was, or wasn’t. Whether she had one eye, four eyes, or twenty, it wouldn’t have changed how I felt about her.
