I went back to my grandma’s cottage. I didn’t want to stay indoors, so I decided to take a walk in the nearby forest. I didn’t stray too far, just far enough to feel both refreshed and secure. The familiar trees and earthy scents offered a semblance of comfort.
“Elise, what am I going to do?” I thought, hoping for some clarity.
“It’s been a tough day,” Elise replied softly. “I know how upset you are about Celia and Zach, and now your dad’s being so evasive about your mom’s death and your illness. It’s just too much for you. Oh, I really wish you could shift. Then I could take control and give you some rest. I will let you know how thrilling and relaxing it is to run as a wolf in the forest.”
