A horse trailer took up several spaces in Southern Hospitality Animal Hospital’s crowded car park. Thelonious had no choice but to park behind it. A russet rump mooned him as he levered himself down from the driver’s seat, a grassy-smelling fart wafting in his direction. The massive beasts frightened the life out of him. There was something sneaky about them, as if they’d chuck their riders off a cliff if they thought they could get away with it. Thelonious dreaded going inside the building for fear of what else he’d find. This was farming country. For all he knew, the waiting area might be filled with cows, pigs and chickens!
