I missed you, Alden.
Alden's POV
As I drove back, images of Charlotte's infidelity raced through my mind. It was her that broke my heart after we fell in love and formed an emotional connection. I let out a loud cry and pressed the accelerator hard, heading straight home.
**Two weeks later**
TV broadcast
Two billionaires, Albernot and Damien, have their children set to marry tomorrow. Is this all about business or love?
I thought to myself as I angrily turned off the TV, 'These news reporters seem short of reasonable information to give.
I had already started getting ready for my wedding, and everything was perfect.
Lisa's POV
My miserable day is here as I am ready to get married to the man who despises me every second. My eyes began to well up with tears, removing the makeup.
Angel yelled, "Oh no, Lisa, you should not be crying here." Luckily you found a husband. You will grow to love him gradually as time passes."
"Get up, please, so you can put on your gown."
My step-sister Rita commented, beaming, "Oh, Lisa, you look gorgeous," and I could not help but blush.
"By the way, where is your husband? Have you two not gotten along already, or is he not supposed to be here at least?" My stepmother grinned mischievously and continued.
"Apologies, the billionaire's wife is not getting enough of him. On his wedding day, is he being unfaithful?
"What do you mean, Mum?"
"Rita, let us get going already," she uttered as they walked away.
"Alden cheat? How? No way," I thought as my eyes grew tired from crying all the time.
"Hey, ma'am, you don't need to cry. The wedding service is already past its start time.
I met my parents there as I wore the veil and walked down the aisle with my father first.
As we made our way to the altar and into Alden, my heart kept pounding as various camera flashes erupted across my face.
The priest continued.
"Do you consider Alden Damien to be your husband by law?"
"Yes," I said quietly, and Alden followed suit.
We brought the seal to stamp the marriage certificate after exchanging rings as a couple.
I noticed my father grinning at Mr. Damien.
"So this is more of a contract," I thought. "I felt I was genuinely loved by my father."
As we made our way down the aisle, Alden took off the veil from my face and planted a kiss on my cheek.
Prominent national figures were present, along with the unsettling press photographers.
"Mrs. Alden, how do you feel about your marriage? Is it accurate to say that you two did not really date, or is this primarily a business agreement between two companies?" As we got into the car to head to the night party, journalists started asking questions, which the bodyguards shoved away.
**De Ville Hotel**
Different guests trooped in, and the ambiance looked so colorful as I stayed up admiring how beautiful the surroundings were.
A knock was heard on the door.
"Yes, come in."
"Good evening, ma'am."
"Good evening."
"Your party dress is here."
"Okay, help me drop it there."
"Yes, ma'am."
I wore a beautiful maxi silk slip dress from the waist in olive green, featuring a flowing silhouette with a layered neckline.
"Wow, the details are so beautiful," Mercy, my best friend, gasped as she saw me.
"Lisa, you look so beautiful."
"Do I?" I asked, standing in front of the mirror.
"Yes, you are, Lisa. You are the woman of the moment."
"Let's get some touches on your makeup already," she said, using the makeup brush on my face to bring out the highlight.
We were downstairs, and of course, a fake smile was plastered on my face as Alden held my hand while we greeted the guests.
"We welcome everyone to this grand occasion to celebrate the marital bliss of the Alden and Albernot families. Food is always available at the buffet. Make yourselves comfortable," the event planner said as we went from seat to seat greeting our guests.
"Hey, Alden," a beautiful lady said, greeting him.
"Charlotte, you are back?"
"Yes, Alden, I missed you. You never invited me to your wedding; the G4 told me about it."
"Oh, Lisa," she said, trying to hug me, spilling wine on my dress.
"Oh no, I have ruined your dress already," she said, trying to clean it.
"Don't worry, it's fine. I will head upstairs to clean myself up."
Who is this Charlotte of a lady and how did she show up at our wedding? No, Lisa, she might just be a business partner, I thought, heading to the room. Now my dress is ruined. What can I do now? I thought with panic.
I quickly wore a white maxi gown with a scarf around my neck. As I went back down, the party had already begun and everyone was dancing.
"Where have you been, Lisa?" My friend Angel dragged me down.
"My dress got stained. I had to change."
"Come down already, let's party!" she said, pulling me.
"Have you seen my husband? I was with him a while ago.”
"Oh, I think I saw him right there, speaking with a man. Give him some time already; let's have fun. It's your day," she said.
"Alright then."
Alden's POV
"What are you doing here, Charlotte? I told you to leave my life and leave for good."
"I can't stand you marrying another lady. I miss you, Alden, I miss us," she said, trailing her hands on my chest. "I miss the way you touch me," Charlotte said.
"You missed me and you cheated on me, Charlotte. How could you?"
"No, Alden, he drugged me," she said with tears all over her face.
"That one thing has the power to weaken me." She yanked me tightly to her. I could not resist taking her up to my waist and kissing her again.
"But it's my wedding night."
"No, it is not important," she continued.
Our lips met and we shared wild kisses.
"You've improved a lot, Charlotte. What happened?"
"It doesn't matter," she said, shutting my lips.
We made our way to the next r
oom and I pulled off her clothes.
"What! Have a look at what we have here." Lisa's step-sister Rita stormed in and began clapping her hands.
