Arman’s pov

“You know we have to tell mum that everything is okay hence us coming back home “Simon said as the chauffeur drove into the compound of our home.

“Sure”I said and looked out of the car window to see the queue of workers waiting for our return.

I poised my stature as I stepped out of the car sighting Estella at the end of the queue.She gave me a quick smile and looked downwards in respect.

“Hey mama”I said as I moved to take my mama’s outstretched hands in cue with Simon.

“Welcome home “she said in a pleased tone.

I turned to see Estella staring but she was quick to look away.

“I made sure they cooked your favorites.”

“Oh mum that wasn’t necessary “Simon said.

“Well I can’t wait to have some because I’m famished”

He gave me an amused look shaking his head.

An hour later ,I found myself watching Estella as she ordered the maids to do their respective works.

It was like she was the only thing I could look at in the room.

Her hair was tossed back in a rough bun and I almost wanted to know what it felt like in my hands.

She kept avoiding my eyes and I loved the game she was playing.I knew the effect I had on her led to that.

I resumed eating my food when she stepped out with the other workers after they were done with dishing the meals in front of us.

“I’ll be right back”Simon said and hurried out before mama protested leaving his food untouched.

I tried not to think much about it

“Where is Alda?mama”

“She needed to stay back at the school hostel because she needs to prep for her oncoming exam”

“Well she could read from home?”

“You know Alda .She’s never going to displease herself to please anyone.Plus I think it would be nice for her to mix up with her peers.I don’t want her ending up like a loner like me”she said giving a sad expression.

“I understand but still she needs to come back home”

She stopped picking at her food.

“Is there anything I need to know because your call was sudden this morning when you stated that you would be coming back home with your brother to stay for awhile and your father wouldn’t pick my calls also “

I hated that father was keeping her worried but I understood his reason too.

“He’s just busy with business mother”

“Don’t lie to me Arman.I know something’s wrong .I felt it as soon as he called to state that he would be away for awhile.He would never miss my appointment with the doctor too”

I clenched my fork as I tried hard not to give in to her suspicious look.

“I miss you mama.so much “

Her facial expression relaxed a bit

“I know dear and I’m so happy you’re home.But don’t try to change the topic because I would get to the end of this”she said in finalty.

💥Estella’s pov

I exhaled loudly as I left the dining room.Ma Esmeralda had made a morning call to make a banquet of dinner and I knew what came next whenever she made such order.

I could feel his stare even as I left the dining room.

God Arman was going to be the end of me.I couldn’t think straight with him around and with the luggages I had seen the porters carrying around,I suspected he was going to be around for awhile.

“Estella”someone called pulling me out of my thoughts.

It was Simon looking dreamy as ever.

“Hi”I said softly

He moved close to me searching my face earnestly.

“How are you?”

“ Perfect.How about you?”

“Just work and work and work”he said in a teasing tone.

I chuckled and nodded in understanding.

“Actually I missed seeing you around also”he declared to my utmost surprise.

“Really?”

“Yes and don’t forget we have a date”

I looked around to make sure we were alone because the conversation was getting intense.

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea because I work for you and your family”I said in an attempt to sound professional

“Relax.It’s just a friendly date “he countered

I needed to know his intention but I decided to save it for later.

“Okay if you say so.I should get going now” I said and turned on my heels.

I noticed a trio of maids were looking as they passed but I didn’t care.I just needed to get out of here .
