The lecture hall was half full when I got there. I took a seat near the middle, dropped my bag on the floor, and pulled out my laptop even though I already knew I wasn’t going to focus. Theo dropped into the seat beside me a few minutes later. “You’re early,” he said. “Didn’t feel like sitting in the dorm.” He glanced at the screen I hadn’t even unlocked yet. “You still weird about the game?” “The game was fine.” “You lost. You never say the game was fine when you lose.” I didn’t answer. The professor walked in and the low conversations around us started to die down. Theo leaned a little closer before it got fully quiet. “You’ve been off since you got back from your dad’s place.” “I’m just tired.” He gave me a look that said he didn’t believe it, but he sat back when the lecture
