Camille smiled. She placed her hand on Oliver’s shoulder. “That one is the difficult puzzle piece, Oliver.” She took a deep breath. “Chase and William initially wanted to lure you out of Macon Wesley to manage the PAAF legal team, but you refused to accept their offer.”
“I remember that,” said Oliver. “Chase seemed crushed that I did not take his offer.”
“He was crushed, as was William,” continued Camille. “Chase deliberately recruited Richard because he needed someone to keep an eye on you. Richard was your trusted associate and mentee. Chase and William exploited that relationship to watch you from the distance.”
