NINETEEN The metal door burst under the impact of a large battering rod. A metallic screech, followed by heavy boots stomping forward, consumed the rustic setting of a riverfront warehouse in the industrial district. The police squad formed three disparate lines of entry. An officer carrying an assault weapon formed the lead on each line. One group went to a pile of boxes stacked orderly along the north wall of the warehouse. Another went to a bank of computers and electronic devices placed upon tables in the center of the room. A final third approached some shipping containers along the southern wall, closest to the river. Sgt.
