The other maids looked at each other their faces showing that they were both uncomfortable and worried about the situation.
One of the younger maids spoke up quickly trying to reassure Lady Aria. “Oh um it’s really nothing important Lady Aria” she said in a rushed voice. “You should really go and have your breakfast now.”
I made a face that showed I was unhappy and I felt my throat getting tight and uncomfortable. I said “I would prefer it if you talked to me face-to-face instead of saying things indirectly.”
