Chapter 7

WHEN MAYUMI entered the bar, She immediately sat down at the table that she always sit with and then ordered vodka.

"Miss what's your order?" the waiter asked her.

She smiled. “Vodka double shot on the rock please.” Next handed a tip to the waiter. He already knows this. This is always her order everytime she went to drunk.

She drink the vodka as soon as the waiter gave it to her. She remembered what had happened earlier. She wondered why the man had helped her.

"What reason does he have to help me? I think everything is just a show so I don't believe it," she whispered then just forgot what happened earlier.

She ordered vodka again and then drank it again. She was a bit tipsy when she got up to go home to her condo but she can still drive somehow.

As she walked she suddenly fainted. She almost fell over. Fortunately and there were hands who catches her.

"Huh? Jeff," she whispered. Jeff caught up with her. Fortunately, the man was there she really fall on the ground. How embarrassing that a famous Actress was a foolish drunkards.

"Yes, I am. Why are you here at this bar? Are you okay?" He asked curiously.

"Thank you. Well, to cool off my mind. Yes, I'm fine. I'm just a little dizzy."

"You're welcome. Why?"

"We had a little bit of a arguments earlier in our photoshoot so I went here to cool off. I want the annoyance in my head to go away."

"Okay, are you feeling well? Have you let go of your resentment earlier?"

"It's okay. I'm going home. You, why are you here? Do you have a problem too?"

"Well, I just got through the break up, for almost three years we had a relationship and then we just broke up with my girlfriend. It's so disappointing. There is no deep reason but she said she wants to set free herself."

The atmosphere around them became a bit gloomy. Jeff is sad and Mayumi feels his situation.

They sat back in the chair first. Talked things over first and she advised the man to be firm. She is good at giving advice but she can't even advise herself correctly. She's been paranoid over difficult situation.

"Are you okay? I would like to talk to you about something."

She then told all that had happened to her mother. It's not that detailed but at least it has a hint in investigating the case.

"Of course. You're a great adviser so I'm fine. Okay. I will do what you ask me to do. I will look for those responsible to your mom's death."

"Thank you. Let's go. I need to go home. I have a mall show tomorrow so I need to rest." They left the bar.

"Okay. I'll just send you home if it's okay with you?"

"Don't bother anymore. I'm fine. I can drive myself home. Thank you. See you next time around."

It smiled. The man had a dimple. It made him looks cute. "Okay, bye."

Mayumi go home and take a shower before going to sleep. She wants to relax. She need to forget what happen and to look forward for tomorrows events.

MAYUMI has a mall show. This is an endorsement of a lotion. It was only last night that she found out about it. She had no choice so she take it, besides she has nothing to do today. She's totally free the whole day.

She's already in the venue. The show started earlier. It is a simple promotion that she need only to dance while using this lotion. She will going to apply this lotion unto her arms and legs.

She dances gracefully and many have wowed by her performance. She was the best in terms of promoting something. Aside from being well-known in the country, she's also a multi-talented person. She was versatile in everything except in the name of love. She's still single and doesn't engage in any relationships.

Many claps their hands and admired her. She dances and apply some lotion to her arms. It is very convincing. Bunny also smiled a lot because of happiness. It also proudly claps his hands.

"Try this lotion. It is Aloe-papaya lotion that makes your skin whithen, soft and glamorously shiny within 1 day. So try it." She glamorously said and ended the show. The show ended up successfully.

While she's having the show Kalel was also in the mall. He saw everything. He just watched Mayumi's performances and let his mind criticized her.

After the show, Mayumi got dressed up and decided to go home. But their path cross again.

Kalel come closer with her. "Wow, clap-clap," he said in an insulting tone.

She raised an eyebrow. "What? What do you mean? Why are you here?"she sarcastically asks him.

"Well, it's a coincidence. Is that cheap you are? Why you need to accept that cheap endorsement of a local brand lotion?" Then smirk at her.

"Are you here to insult me? So what? Its not that I am a cheap person but I prefer to help. Yes maybe the talent fee I gain is not as big as your company gives me but it is worth it unlike yours."

"What? Come on. Are you crazy?"

"Maybe I am crazy but I think you are crazier than me. Excuse me. I need to go home."

But instead of letting Mayumi go. He hold her arms so that Mayumi can't go. The electric current make them feel a little shock. Their surroundings got slowly revolving.

Mayumi first broke those momentum when she feel those awkwardness.

"Take off your hands from me. What's your problem? And I don't have enough time for this nonsense stuffs."

"Wow. Really? Okay. Go, ahead cheap Mayumi." Then he gets his hands off to Mayumi's arms. Without showing him feel those awkward moment they had.

Mayumi raised her eyebrow again. She even get angrier. " Me cheap? You're wrong!" She smiled insultingly. If there's a person who is cheap, that is you and your father. So please leave me alone and mind your own business." She said without hesitation.

"What? Why is my father is being involved in here?"

She came closer to Kalel."You better asks him. As far as I know you save me from Briana yesterday, hmm. Now I know the answer, you are making yourself a hero in front of the other people but you were also like your father, oh? A heartless man in the entire world I've ever known. Stay away from me, if you wants your life not going in a mess." She said then walked away. She never look back.

Kalel was left unbelievable to what he heard. Yes, it is loud and clear. Mayumi said those things without fear of losing her job and career. She fight against her boss.

It also left Kalel some questions in his mind. "What did she say? As if they are criminal? How crazy she is. I need you put you down." He said angrily and go inside his car. He immediately go home. He need to refresh his mind.

Mayumi did not go home upon receiving Bunny's text message. He inform her about their last shoot of their telenovela with her enemy Briana Lopez. So she headed to the location of the shoot even though she's not at the good mood.

She immediately saw the two witches that are taking a dangerous gaze at her. She ignored the two and confidently walk inside the building to the venue of their last shoot. She don't care about that witches.

"Wow, confidently badass? How dear you Mayumi. You have something to pay with me. Akala mo papalampasin ko ang nangyari kahapun?" Nakakairitang boses ni Briana.

She turned around and look Brianna insultingly. " What? Are you damn crazy? As far as I know ikaw ang nagsimula nang gulo kahapun."

"Argh. Wala kang karapatan na agawin sakin si Kalel. He is mine. Kahapun kung photo shoot lang iyon bakit ang lapit niyo sa isa't-isa? Are you seducing him?"

She insultingly laughed. "What? The hell! Why would I? I don't care about him. Sayo na siya at wala akong balak na e-seduce ang bwesit na lalaking iyon." Sabi niya saka nagwalk-out na. Kailangan pa niyang mag-ayos ng sarili. Wala siyang panahon para sa walang kwentang bagay gaya ng pag-awayan ang lalaki.

"Tsk. Sayo na ang mukong na iyon Briana. Wala akong paki-alam sa relasyon niyo." Usal niya saka pumasok ng dressing room. As if naman na gugustuhin niyang mapalapit sa anak ng pumatay sa ina niya. Hindi siya desperadang babae.

Sinalubong siya ni Bunny. Nagtaas ito ng kilay ng makita siyang galit. "What happened? Mag naka-away ka ba? I guess ang dalawang bruha na naman ano?"

She shrugged her shoulder. "Absolutely yes. Inaway ako dahil sa nakita niya kahapun sa shoot. Malay ko ba kung ano ang namamagitan sa kanilang dalawa. How pathetic!"

Bunny slowly curled his finger for anger. "Dito ka lang. She will see what she wants to be. Argh," he walked over to the door.

Hinarang siya ni Mayumi. "Hey, stop! Don't do anything. Hayaan mo na ang dalawa. May araw din sila."

"Okay. Sige na mag-ayos ka na. Paparating na ang make up artist. Pero sa susunod masasabunutan ko na ang isa sa kanilang dalawa.

Natawa na lang si Mayumi sa sinabi ni Bunny. " Thank you Bunny for always protecting me."

"Welcome, no worries if I am with you. They can't even touch the tip of your hair, I promised."

Nandiyan na ang make up artist niya. Pinapagandahan na siya ng mga ito. Ito naman ang huling project na magkakasama sila ni Brianna.

Pagkatapos ay malaya na siya sa kung anong gagawin niya. Pinagdasal na talaga niya ito na mangyari. She doesn't want to see that hippocrates woman.

"Ayan na. Tapos na. Wow, you look so beautiful Miss Yumi." Puri ng make up artist. Palagi naman niya itong naririnig kahit na kanino. Sawa na siya sa paulit-ulit na complements sa kanya ng mga taong humahanga sa kanya.

Manny the Director, came. "Okay, be ready. We will start after five minutes."

Pumasok na rin sina Brianna at Pushy. Nagtaas ito ng kilay sa kanya. Nasa set ma rin ang co-actors Niya na si Dave. Siya ang lalaking pinag-aagawan nila sa drama.

Nakangiti itong lumapit kay Mayumi. Ngumiti rin si Mayumi pabalik. "How are you? Long time no see, Yumi," Sabay kindat. Dati na kasi itong nanligaw sa kanya pero hindi niya sinagot. No time for love.

"Okay, be ready. Actors proceed in the set." Sabi ni Manny.

Ito na ang huli nilang shooting. Ito na rin ang finale ng telenovela.

"Yes, direct!" Pumagitna na silang tatlo.

"Sa pag-aagaw na kayo nagwakas di ba? So ngayon... Dadating si Dave, at mamimili kung sino ang pipiliin niya sa ibayong dalawa. Ayusin niyo ha, dapat walang away na magaganap. Dapat one take lang dahil nagmamadali ako. Okay," wika ni Manny habang nakapamaywang.

"Yes, I assure you," wika ni Brianna.

Ngumiti lang si Mayumi.

"Okay, action!"

Nasa sabunutan na ang eksena ng dalawa. "Aray, bitiwan mo ako," wika ni Rosalinda. Nilakasan kase ni Amanda ang pagkahawak sa buhok niya. Gumanti rin siya sa babae.

Dumating si Dave. Inawat ang dalawa.

"Mahal, tulungan mo ako. Sinaktan ako ng asawa mo." Sumbong pa nito.

"Anong ako ang nauna? Ikaw ang sumugod sa akin, wala kang hiya. Mang-aagaw ka, asawa ko iyan. Kasal kami at ikaw? Jamal ka lang na kahit!"

Yumakap pa si Amanda sa lalaki. "Ngayon, Mahal mamili ka? Ako o siya ang mas mahal mo?"

"Ayaw kong pinapipili ako, pero..." Hindi na natapos ang sasabihin ni Dave ng nagwalked out na si Amanda.

Walang anuman na iniwan neto si Rosalinda. "Mahal, bumalik ka." Napaupo ito sa sahig. Naiwang luhaan.

"Okay cut!" sigaw ni Manny. "Okay, done pero sana Brianna ginandahan mo ang pagluha mo. Medyo hindi masyadong maganda pero okay na."

Napaupo si Briana sa tabi at nangagalaiti sa galit. Nagalit ito sa masakit na ulo o saw sinabi ni Manny.

Sinundan ni Dave si Amanda. "Amanda, hintayin mo ako. I'll choose you over her. I love you more than her. I really regret for what I did. I realized that, no one can replace the real love I have from you." Lumuhod ito sa harapan niya. "Please forgive me, I'll promise that I Will never do it again. I know it's hard to give another chance but I can wait the time you will forgive me."

Pinahid niya ang mga luha na kanina pa dumadaloy mula sa mata niya.

"Yes, I'll forgive you. Maybe they will treat me as a martyr wife but who am I that can't forget you?"

He wipe her tears and kissed her so much with complete passion and sweetness. She hug him and lean his face to his shoulder claiming him hers again. Amanda was very happy again. Finally her family becomes complete.

"Cut! Good job Yumi and Dave." Manny commended the two. Bunny also proudly claps his hand.

"Bunny, let's go home. I'm tired for the whole day." Sabi Niya kay Bunny. Nagpa-alam na rin siya kay Manny at sa ibang crew at kay Dave. Hindi niya pinansin sina Brianna.

Mabilis na umalis ng venue ang dalawa. Hinatid muna ni Bunny si Mayumi sa condo nito saka umuwi na rin sa bahay niya.
