Chapter 1

The sound of music was loud, and yet she could still hear the sound of Jonas laughing at her. It never bothered her that much before when the others got paired with people in the club. She liked being on her own. Who were he to make her feel like a sore thumb? Sighing, Zera shook her head and walked past the dance floor where she was sure the other crewmates were dancing their faces off. Luckily, they were in Lux. A club she was familiar with and whose bar tenders had soft spots for Amazons. The bar was actually her favorite place in the entire club. Rows and shelves of different multicolored alcohol from all corners of the galaxy complete with different cups that were shaped differently and some even lit up with a drink poured into it. The Bar usually had four Apulians tending it as they were blessed with their race’s flexibility and long limbs. Leaning against the bar, she smiled at the bar tender, Rune, who returned the gesture with a grin as his arm returned to an appropriate length before he lifted a bottle of Jin in her direction as she asked,” Anything strong for tonight?” Rune jerked his chin at the dance floor where she was sure the others were, “Running away again?” Not bothering to turn, Zera pursed her lips, “I never run. Just lying low for a while.” Rune nodded and thankfully didn’t push the subject. Instead, he turned and checked his shelves, “I have something for you then, be right back.” From the corner of the bar, the man who was nursing his drink arched his brow at Zera as Rune returned with a large black bottle on the counter with a case of shot cups. Rune then tapped the cap of it playfully, “Straight from the land of Uriell." The name made her perk up, and she studied the bottle, “Is it potent?” Rune smirked, “Over 200 hundred years old. What do you think?” Zera clasped her hands and smiled, “And you're allowing me to drink it?” “Just five shots, “he answered. He then poured out her shots before also putting out a glass of brandy for her to drink later on. “Just a starter pack.” Rune then left her with her drinks as another customer called his attention. Clasping her hands, she muttered a prayer of thanks before downing her first shot. It went down bitter, but the after-taste was sweet. Like the red cherries that were given to her on her last trip. Blinking rapidly, the buzz that came from it was actually pleasant. Her head didn't spin as much as it usually did when she drank Sela Liquor, which usually had an effect on her. Instead, she felt like she had just an extra shot of energy. “Wow, that is strong,” she muttered. “Maybe you should go at it a little slowly.” Zera shrugged at the guy before tossing back her brandy and doing a little happy dance. "You alone love? "The man asked. Zera turned, and this time studied the man. He was tall and lean. Built like an office worker from the city. His blonde hair was tied back from his face and his eyes seemed to be appraising her like some kind of prize. She didn't like that. Focusing her energy on pretending to be nonchalant, Zera pursed her lips,"Who wants to know?" As she picked her second shot up, her body suddenly went stiff as a large hand wrapped around her free wrist. The man leaned close with his drink in his hand,"Someone is looking for a good time. Why don't we help each other?" She wanted to hurl. Wiggling a bit, she tried to move away from him,"Not interested, please let go before you break something." "Oh come on darling," The man croned leaning close to ghost his lips over her check,"Just a little." "I said no." This time, she moved to pull away but his arm dug into her waist, making her yelp. A hand swiftly grabbed the man's hand and wrenched him away from her.Zera stumbled a bit, but another arm caught her and hauled her back into a hard rock chest. Blinking in a daze, Zera followed tthe chest up to see a chiseled face and the most amazing grey eyes glaring at the man who thought he had all the right to grab her. "The lady said no," he spoke. Zera got goosebumps. Her heart even did a somersault. 'Oh my Seven stars,'she thought. The man was clearly scuplted by the gods. No way does anyone look like this now a days. The creep took one look at the man holding onto her, nodded and left with out a backwards glance. She guessed most most men would do the same if they came face to face with a God as well. As soon as the creep was gone, he realsed her waist and nodded at her," Are you alright?" Zera blinked and stuggled to form words," Ye...yess..I...I`m good. Great." He smiled at her gently,"Enjoy your night." He turned and left. Zera waved at him weakly before turning to her shots. She counted. Only one. So it wasn`t a dream when this man came out of no where. She didn`t need saving. But it never hurt to have a man as gorgeous as that came to her rescue. She then downed the last of her shots. Her eyes teared up and she felt a burst of energy couse through her body. Leaning over the bar, she slapped the top to get Rune`s attention. He glanced at her as she brought up three fingers," Three vodka shots." Rune nodded with a grin. Three shots and one tower later, she was on her way to La La Land as she stumbled onto the dance floor and started shaking her hips. Dancing she knew and enjoyed. Both as an Drusillian and as a young Captain. The song went from fast and hip to slow and seductive. Both her hands were up in the air and she moved her hips to match the tempo of the song playing. Her long hair was tired up which made her glad when she started sweating. Her eyes closed for a moment before she opened them and happened to glance at the top floor. A pair of grey eyes were watching her. She smiled when she realized that it was that man from earlier. She waved at him and gestured for him to join her. He looked like he was contemplting it before he nodded. Handing his drink over to one of the man beside him, presumably his friend, he made his way down the stairs and joined her. His front to her back. She grinded and shimmed her hips all the while he ran his nose down the side of her neck. His hands though remined firmly wrapped around her waist. Maybe it was the closeness, the heat, the atmopshere, the drinks or the combintion of all four drinks but as soon as the songs finished and sank into another, the man pulled her away from the dance floor. A line of booths always littered the corner of the club. They were curtained, had soft blue cushions and could go sound proof if need be. It was usually for the more well-off clubers of the galaxy. Zera was directed into one and stood feeling all hot and bothered. When the man closed the curtains and turned to her, he clasped her chin and kissed her. Grapsing his shirt tightly, she deepened the kiss and spun him around. Pushing him down on the cusion, he landed with a surpised " ouff." Smiling, she lifted her skirt and straddled his lap.
