KATIE’s POV:
“I can’t! I really can’t” My voice came out in a fit of pain as I groaned on the floor. I was too tired to even move except trying to breathe which was still harder than I could ever imagine.
“Stand, Katie. Be relentless” I heard Jace's voice say as his shadow loomed over me.
I didn’t respond to him, instead chose to keep laying there.
“Liela, Shoot" Jace demanded, and my eyes opened just in time to see several sets of pins racing towards me.
I was too weak to even stand. So, I lay there, unmoving and unable to move.
Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, Jace yelled "Stop!"
The pins halted in mid-air, suspended by some unseen force. I was finally able to take some fresh air, gasping for breath I had been holding due to the pain.
