I had to step out of the club.
I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t just stand there and watch my man dance with another man, no matter how harmless I knew it was. Lani would be angry with me. I know she would, but I couldn't stand there for another minute pretending I was okay.
She had made me promise her that I would behave, and I had planned to. I was on my best behaviour from the moment we arrived at the club. I didn’t try to butt in on any of her conversation with Javi and had just gone with the flow. Everything was nice and dandy; I was the cool mate who could respect the fact that his mate wanted to have fun in a crowd full of hungry men whose scent and pheromones polluted the air.
