Chapter Twenty-Four Dawson “Come again?” Jackson asked, looking at me. He held a massive gray rabbit with floppy ears in his arms. “I need some advice about Evie,” I repeated, feeling beyond foolish. Jackson turned and set the rabbit onto a stainless-steel examination table. Angling back to face me, he rested his hips against it and stroked the rabbit’s back. “Well, this is a first,” he finally said with a glint of humor in his eyes. “The first and only,” I said flatly.
