She didn't speak a word. She lay there, looking around and at her patched body. She coughed a couple that racked her whole body and it made me shiver with concern. Then her eyes found mine. I shook without knowing until I looked down at my hands that reached for her uncovered upper arm.
Tears filled her eyes as they found her wrapped hands.
