The night was dark already, but Scott was in an endless pursuit of Bridget in the street, who ran swiftly away from him.
“Bridget! Bridget!” He called out when suddenly she stopped.
With his hand, Scott shaded his face from the streetlight that shone brightly on his eyes, which made him twitch his eyes.
“Bridget?”
“What? What do you want from me?” she answered, kicking away the tears on her face.
“What has come over you?”
“This has nothing to do with you, so please just let me go.”
“No, I can't. I'm angry at the fact you slept with him but I love you too dearly to let go of you, please give me a chance.”
“I love him.” She uttered bluntly.
“What?”
“Yes, you heard me right. Since you went to rehab, I grew to love him.” She said, with her face lowered.
Scott's pores opened and he silently clashed his teeth in a grin. He suddenly pushed her to the floor and fell to his knees, pounding the ground with his fists.
“Scott?” She called; with fear in her speech. This wasn't who she knew. He wouldn't have done something like that to her.
He raised his head in tears. It had become maroon. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.” He pleaded.
“No…” she stood up, afraid of what he might do next. “Stay away from me;” she said with her index finger in the air, pointing at him. “I don't want to ever see you close to me…” she warned and took off.
In wonder, he sat gently on the ground, in despair…
“What have I done?” He asked himself. Then, his anger had been suppressed long enough. He howled loudly and his claws…his claws! dashed out and his eyes turned glowed…
It was as if he had let all the anger and frustration out,but a little annoyance remained. He growled more loudly than before and transformed into a full werewolf.
He went silent, wondered at himself. Perhaps wondering if he was a beast. “What am I?” He questioned, staring at his hands and slowly touching his face.
The headlights of a vehicle shone brightly in the distance. It was approaching him and Scott, in puzzlement the vehicle too.
The vehicle almost ran into him when suddenly, a hand pulled him away from the road to the walkway. It was Voe!
Instantly, Scott changed into his normal self and stared deeply at Voe who was on top of him.
She pushed him off and got up. His eyes caught her breasts that flapped. She was naked!
“Oh my!” He screamed and removed his jacket and put it on her. “Please take this!”
She was still half nude after putting it on. He imagined her walking on the streets that way.
He swiftly removed his belt, unzipping and awkwardly pulling out his pants, being left out in his underpants only.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
Deep down, he was glad. At least she could speak. “Here, have this..” He said to her, looking away.
She collected it from him and dropped it.
As much as he looked weird, what could he do? As they say, half a loaf is better than none, he thought to himself, hoping he used the correct expression.
“Why would you do that? You're meant to wear it.” He said and stretched it out to her again.
Although she struggled in putting it on,it was a success at last.
It was as if he had forgotten his breakup with Bridget.
“I saw her leave.” She said,
“Can we not talk about this?” He tried numbing the pain.
“And you transformed into a werewolf.” She said and lifted his head, bewildered.
“A what?”
“Were you bitten recently?”
“What are you talking about?”
“I'm clearly not speaking in parables…” she was interrupted by a scent. She knew that scent of course from somewhere. It rang a bell but she couldn't lay her hands on it.
She walked to him and began sniffing his body,, from head to feet. He was the one!
“Where were you last night?”
“What?” He gestured and accidentally, Voe's gaze met his neck. The scar on his neck.
“Where did you get this from?” She said, holding aggressively onto his neck.
“That hurts.” He cried.
“I'm so sorry.” She said and let go. “If you don't mind, where did you get the scar on your neck?”
“I was in the woods last night and some animal left me with it.” He explained.
Oh, no. She silently hoped. But he was the one.
Startled, she moved away from him.
“What's the matter? Don't worry, it's no big deal, it's just an animal.”
Sadly, she was terrible at hiding the fact that she was shocked. She slowly nodded.
“By the way, thanks for saving me.”
“It's nothing.”
“What did you call that thing again?”
“What?” She asked, even when she knew what he was talking about.
“My transformation.”
“Yeah…have you told anyone about it?” She knew that was not a proper way to answer such a question but…
He interrupted her thoughts.
“No. I really don't know what's happening to me.”
“It's fine. You're normal.”
“I don't think so. My nails were longer than they were, my face was just not it and I felt something happened to my eyes. I felt totally different and more angry than ever.” He confessed.
“I’ll talk to you later.” she said, cutting the discussion halfway. “Good night. Just have it in your mind that you're alright.”
He was amazed but decided to flow. Perhaps she was not in for a discussion.
He nodded and squeezed a smile. She turned away.
“Hey..” they both called in unison, turning their backs.
“You wanted to say something.” She said,
“No, you go ahead.”
“No, no, please speak. I have almost nothing to say.” She said and noticed his furrowed eyebrow that permitted her. “Fine, I'm sorry she left you.”
“It's no big deal.” He said and his eyes failed him. Tears he mustered fell gracefully.
“Foolish me.” He said and laughed. “Do you have a place to stay?”
“I don't wanna talk about it.”
“Oh, I'm so sorry.”
“It's fine.”
“Do you mind coming to my place? My grandpa loves children.” He said and beamed with a smile.
