Chapter Fifteen
Rona had bought the Boarding House Lochfeta when she had retired from the Council; it kept her busy and funded her and her partner’s passion for visiting Clara’s pub (a local pub on the pier). Usually, it was workmen who stayed all week and left at the weekend. But thanks to Harry’s persuasive offer, Rona agreed to put up Nefertiti and her group for just one night during the weekend.
‘I suppose we’ll need matching sheets and coffee sachets,’ said Derek, Rona’s partner.
‘With the money he’s paying, they can have filtered,’ said Rona.
Derek went to the cash and carry and bought stuff that he thought might posh up the place a bit. ‘I’m not stopping, mind,’ he said. ‘Tonight’s karaoke at Clara’s pub, and a bottle of Whyte & MacKay is one of the prizes.’
