Selina jerked back a step before she caught herself. No. She refused to feel fear. Alaric wouldn’t dare hurt her in a crowd this big. He walked toward her, and this time she didn’t move. He stopped right in front of her, eyes bloodshot, dark circles heavy under them. His gaze was wild, like his mind had wandered someplace it could never come back from. He looked like a man devoured by his own obsession. “You done sulking yet? You’re just mad and you still love me. It’s time to come home.” Alaric grabbed her hand, arrogance dripping from every word. Selina pulled away, brows drawn tight. How ridiculous. Where did he get that level of delusion? She lost her baby because of him.
