Chapter 2 - Suitcases He managed to maintain his composure from the slap that she had sent on his face, “If you do anything that will get me annoyed one more time, I will toss into the sea.” he warned her. Anna’s eyes widened in shock, she was surprised that Jordan who was normally quiet at work was speaking to her in such an aggressive manner. When they got to the shade, he tossed her roughly on the floor, she landed on her butt. and she winced in pain. “Why did you throw me off like that? You could have told me to get down on my own.” she complained as he moved over to her back and tied the rope behind her corset. “Do not make me regret helping you!” he said as he moved away, then he went to get more woods that didn’t get too wet by the rain, and added them to the fire. Anna remained quiet as she just watched him. He grabbed his pants and while he was about to wear them, he felt his phone in it. He brought it out and tried to to turn it on but it wasn't coming on. He heaved a sigh of disappointment, he had a little hope that the phone was going to come on. His suit was relatively dry too, so he threw it on and he sat some meters away from Anna. Despite the fact that the fire that Jordan had made was creating warmth, Anna was still shivering, she moved closer to him because she craved body heat. He looked at her when he noticed that she was closing up the space between them but he didn;t say a word to her. “Why Are you frowning at me? I am cold, what is wrong with what I did?” she blushed as her eyes met his. Jordan found her to be so silly, he wasn’t frowning at her, she must be seeing things now. He made no comment again because of how weak and pitiful she sounded, “Is it possible that we were the only ones that survived the shipwreck?” She started a conversation as she was starting to get bored wht the silence between them. “I can't say.” he shook his head, "All I can pick out from my memory was that I lost consciousness when the ship turned over and when I woke up at the shore, you were the one I saw there.” “What is the thing to do? If everyone else on that ship has died, we will not be able to get back home.” She said with her brimign with tears. “My cats are home with no one to feed them.” She started brawling hard. The scene was heart wrenching for Jordan to bear, he didn’t even know that he would even come to pity someone like heer. But he found himself comforting her, “Do not think too much about it, we were a little on that boast, the accident will have caught the attention of so many people. I am sure rescue will be sent to get us out of here.” He assured him even though he had some suspscions. Of course he wasn’t going to tell her about it, she would only send more time crying. They had taken off from the island, soon after they got on, the accident occurred and it was clear that it was a brief one, or else no one would have survived. It was staged that they landed on this kind of island with this tropical setting. There was really something unsettling about it but Jordan couldn't really tell what it was. Anna soon stopped crying after a while, it was obvious that she had not thought about the possibility that they were not supposed to be on the Island in the first place. Her stomach grumbled, “I am starving, Jordan, is there something I can eat?” Her question made him realize that he was also hungry, he shook his head dismissively, “Hmm, not really.” But Jordan was raised in the rural side of the county and he also served in the military, he had survival and life-coping skills that can help him survive in the desert. “Put your mind at rest, I will not let you go hungry, when the rain stops, I will go and find something we can eat.” He assured her. His assurance only failed to lift her mood, as doubt was clearly written in her face. “Stop bragging about what you cannot do, we may even die before the rescue comes for us.” she said, and she held onto her grumbling stomach. Jordan wnt back to ignoring her word and he laid down to conserve his energy till the drizzling stopped. The sun went completely out of sight and the rain continued falling, now Jordan was starting to get concerned about the possibility of them getting anything to eat that night. It finally stopped drizzling and sprung up from where it was and ran towards the beach, it was the hour where the catch for seafood was high if the fishermen were very skilled. “Are you going to leave me here on my own? What if I get hurt? I am scared?” Anna yelled after him, he paid no attention to her as his eyes were fixed on the suitcases that were floating about the water in their correction, it seemed like they were supplies. It was almost time for the tide, Jordan knew that he would rush to grab the suitcase before the water took them away. He jumped into the sea and swam vigorously to secure the suitcases. When he got back to the shade with the suitcases, he saw thatAnna’s eyes were red and puffy from crying. She didn’t say a word like before when she was quite chatty, but her eyes were fixed on the suitcase, he knew that they caught her interest and she couldn't help but sneak glances at them The expression she was making on her face was so funny that he wanted to laugh. Anna who had worn a cold demeanor at work. If they didn’t get stuck in the rain, he was sure that he would never see the feminine side of her. He opened one of the suitcases and it contained lots of snacks, that made him feel relieved for he had planned on finishing some seafood but the snack that he had now found was more than enough. It could last for days, the opened the other suitcase and he saw some clothes in it, fortunately for them, their clothes were dry. While he looked into the suitcases he saw two passports, they both belonged to Luke and Aaliyah. Ht tossed them back into the suitcase, the evil couple had helped them out this time. He opened up a bag of chips and handed it to Anna, they ate it and they were full. He closed the suitcases and kept them beside them right under the shade. Anna did not argue with him right after he fed her and gave her a change of clothes. The two of them reorganized the shade as Jordan made it more comfortable to sleep in and Anna laid the sheets that were in the suitcase on the palm fronts that served as beddings. When they were done, Jordan opened up a can of drink for both of them. Anna, who was now relaxing around him, spoke up, “Jordan, if you keep things together and obey my instructions, I will give you a whopping sum of twenty thousand dollars. What do you say?” “Please save your empty promises,” he sneered at her as he knew he could never trust any of his superiors from work. “Even if you were to offer me some money, twenty thousand is too small. I am aware that your father is a billionaire from his chain business that he owns. Offering me that amount seems like you're being stingy to me.” He turned away from her while he started to think about what other tangible food they could consume aside from the snack in the box. Even if he was going to catch some fish for them, he didn't have proper tools for it An idea came, he got up quickly and undid his belt and pulled his pants down, he thought of using his trousers as a tool to scratch fish. “Jordan!” She yelled, “I will give you ten fold of what I first offered, just stay away from me.”
