Chapter 4 - Disappointed Jordan
Anna was shocked by his actions, she thought he was about to harass her sexually. The way he had jumped on her and was about to yell.
“Shh,” he placed his finger Over his lips, “Something is coming.” he whispered.
She froze underneath him and became still. The footsteps that were approaching were louder and clearer and two figures showed up. Jordan could not believe his eyes and what he had seen before his eyes. Luke, his boss at work and his ex-fiancee, Aaliyah, were standing before him.
They looked very ragged and dirty from wandering around the island. Misery was written on their faces and they looked worn out. One could even mistake them for wild islander without knowing that they maintained sophisticated appearance that they kept up back at the office.
Jordan and Anna got up from their weird position as they got closer to them, a foul smell oozed from them, Anna had to cover her nose because she was so disgusted. Her family's waste doesn’t even smell like that and she took a few steps to Jordan’s side.
“Is that food?” The two of them chorused at the sight of the remaining grilled fish that was lying by the fireside. “Give it to us right way.”
“NO!” Jordan snarled at them as he went close to the fish.
“Jordan!” Anna’s forehead creased into a frown, “They are starving, and they need some food. Why are you hoarding this fish when you can always catch some more later?”
When Anna was talking to Jordan, Luke and Aaliyah reached out to the fish and tried to take it but Jordan was quick to notice their action.
He snatched it from them and tossed it into the ocean. “I will rather feed this fish to the other fishes in the sea than to let you both have it.”
Lueke fumed with anger because of what Jordan did to him, his face flushed out anger and he looked like he was going to have an outburst. “How dare you snatch the fish and throw it away? Have you forgotten that I am your boss and I have much power over you?”
“What will you do to me on this deserted island,” Jordan fired back at him.
”I will beat you to pulp," his boss said and he let out a mocking laugh.
“Even if you tried to beat me, you wouldn't even last a second before you give up.”Jordan mocked, “Your body is weak from too much booze and s*x. Everyone knows how much you wreck yourself every night at the bar without doing any exercise and you think you can beat me, someone who works out everyday and has big muscles.” Jordan smirked.
Anna and Aaliyah’s eyes immediately fell on his body and they admired his ripped body. Aaliyah was the most surprised because when she was with Jordan, his body was not that beautiful.
Now he was all sexy and attractive but Luke just had a potbelly and was not pleased to look at it but she cibsoled herself to stay on Luke's side, afterall, he was richer than Jordan and he was their boss at work.
Luke was embarrassed by what Jordan had said to him and he also noticed that Anna and Aaliyah werre now ogling Jordan’s body, he decided to prove him himself and swung a kick at Jordan but he lost his balance, stumbling from the impact of that, he fell on the floor, face flat and he could not get up.
“Luke,” Aaliyah yelled out in shock and she rushed at her boyfriend, she inspected his body for injuries, “Are you okay?’ she asked, as her voice was mixed with fear and panic.
Luke growled, as he was unable to say any words.
Aaliyah glared at Jordan, yelled at him, “how could you do this to him, jordan! Have you lost your mind simply because we are on a deserted island, when we get back to work, remember he is going to be your boss, do you want to lose your job?”
“Job?” Jordan scoffed, “Don’t make me laugh, Aaliyah, I have been a junior lawyer for a very long time now and my salary has not increased since I was an intern. So why should I care about such a job?”
“You owe Luke a lot and yet you treat him like this. You are an ungrateful bastard.”
“Can you remind me of what I owe, Luke?’
“Everyone knows how you are from a poor background and you have no vital skills or connection but Luke helped you retain your work and made you a junior lawyer in the best law firm in the country, if not, you will be treated like a piece of shit.”
“Piece of hit you say, I have nothing to say to you. If you choose to stick to that version of the story Jordan said dismissively because he could not believe his ears and attempted to explain to her will cause him to go back and forth with her.
Luke had managed to recover from the pain, he stood up, trying to balance his feet on the ground, he balled his hand into fists and raised them to his chest level, “You ungrateful rat, let’s fight right now. We have to settle this fair and square with a fair fight. I won’t let you bully me with words.”
“I am sorry to disappoint you, Mr Luke, I only fight with worthy opponents, not weak ones. I am not ready to waste my strength on any one. You should also learn to know when you stop because the only skill that I can tell you have is bluffing.” he said coldly without sparing him another glance.
“I won’t stand here and watch you speak to Luke like that!” Aaliyah raised her hand and was about to land a slap on his face.
Jordan caught her hand just before she could slap him and pushed her away from him, “I do not hit girls, do not provoke me, please.” Then he dropped her hand.
“I will do whatever I want,” she said then she slapped him hard in his check.
In a twinkle of an eye, he grabbed Luke by his collar and threw a jab on his face, “If you try to hit me or insult me again, I will reward your boyfriend with a punch.” Jordan warned her.
“That is enough!” Anna finally interfered, “These people just want some food, stop being mean to them, can’t you see that they are starving?”
Without giving her a response, he shoved Luke to the ground, who immediately curled up into a ball, writhing in pain.
“Are you crazy? Can you see that he is already weak from your attacks and you still push him on the floor? I see that you are not scared of going to jail.”
Aaliyah started weeping and she clung on Anna. “Please don't be angry, Luke was hungry and tired, that was why he approached Jordan in that manner. He is also at fault.”
“It’s not Luke’s fault, Jordan is just being wicked and selfish. We are supposed to be supporting each other on this deserted island. How can he be hurting him that way?”
“Is this all my fault?” Jordan yelled as he moved closer to Aaliyah she started yelling.
“Please do not hit me, I am sorry, have mercy on me.”
Anna quickly jumped between them, “Are you seriously going to hit her? I was starting to think you are not a bad person but you are exactly the person the rumors say you are.
Jordan was disappointed to hear what Anna said, even after he had protected her, and fed her.
