Nathan and his core team left Lighte’s Landing immediately after the fateful phone call to return to Dallas. The other FBI agents onsite, along with Sheriff Miller and his deputies, assumed the role of evidence collection.
The chopper team relayed news that led to the discovery of a shallow grave roughly one hundred yards from the cabin that Sophie Drimmel had been imprisoned in. DNA testing done the following afternoon would confirm its occupant to be eighteen-year-old Brittany.
A sample taken from Sophie Drimmel during her intake evaluation at Harris Methodist Hospital for comparison would later cement what most involved in the case already suspected. The same man who had held her captive and assaulted her repeatedly had assaulted Brittany, as well. Further proof -
