Ann’s Pov
“Over my dead body would I condescend so low to have anything to do with an old man like you”,
I busted out with disdain written all over my face. With that, I stood up, walked to the door, then looked back at the disgusting old man and left his office slamming the door hard.
Standing outside his office I took a deep breath in order to calm my nerves, gosh nothing irks me more than these managers trying to have their way with me, all in the name of giving me a job.
I walked out of the company sadly as I had exhausted all available options of job openings I had seen.
I decided to walk home while enjoying the fresh air and clear my head in the process, “Is it really hard to find good jobs these days? Or is it just me?” this was all I was thinking of at the moment.
Suddenly my stomach grumbled, and that was when I remembered that while I was too busy rushing to meet up with my failed job interview, I forgot to eat something. So I decided to walk into the nearby café and fill my stomach.
Just as I sadly walked into the café, my eyes met with this hot guy who was on his way out, it felt like the world had come to a halt. I did freeze, this man looked like the Greek god ‘Apollo’.
He was fair, almost pale white, with his golden brown eyes which contrasted exceptionally with his light-toned face, you could get lost if you stare long enough.
Above all is his stature, he was 6 '5 feet tall, had titan’s shoulders, was so easy, and looked like he was in his late 20s, he was so neatly dressed in his suit, and his aura screamed power. The scent of his cologne temporarily filled my stomach, he looked like he was a model but at the same time, he looked like a business elite. Everything about him drew me to him, I stood still there admiring him from head to toe as if his beauty crippled me for some seconds.
The sight of him alone took away my sorrows, but then my stomach grumbled again which made me remember the reason I was in that café, so I gently walked past the hot guy and went to the counter to get myself something to eat.
Just when I turned around to check if he was still, there I could not find him, alas hunger cost me the opportunity to say hello to him. So I sat down to enjoy my sandwich while I continued to reminisce on the man I had earlier encountered, I stood up after I was done eating and left.
On my way home I walked past a multi-billion dollar company AD & T. While I was admiring the company and imagining what it would feel like if I worked there, I saw a little poster indicating that there was a job opening as a P.A of the C.E.O.
I was so happy, so I sent my CV to the stipulated email address, hoping that I would receive an email to come for an interview.
I got home to meet my crazy, lazy ass roommate, Bianca dancing in the living room. Immediately she saw me, she put off the music and gave me a big hug but because she was sweaty from dancing, I struggled out of the hug.
“Uh! Babes you need to shower, you are so sweaty” I said to her but rolled her eyes at me ignoring my silly comment.
“How did the interview go?” Bianca asked, so I told her everything.
“Sorry babes don’t take it to heart. So what’s next?” I told her about the job opening I saw, and just while I was narrating everything to her my phone beeped.
I checked it and it was an email from AT&T asking to come for an interview by 8 am the next day. I was so happy to see the email and somehow I was convinced that this was the job for me.
I informed Bianca of my interview the next morning and went right into my room, pulled off my clothes and went into the bathroom, where I had a long warm bath.
I quietly tucked myself into bed and set an alarm to wake up by 5 am to prepare so I could beat the traffic and not miss my interview. With that, I gently closed my eyes and slept.
I woke up immediately after the alarm rang, stretched my body, and stood up from the bed, walked into the kitchen to prepare my favourite banana pancake.
I gathered my ingredients and started mixing; it took me about 30 minutes to prepare my pancake. I ate some and left the rest for my lazy roommate to eat when she woke up.
I went back into my room, took my bath then put on a neatly pencilled black skirt with a matching nice red silky shirt, I put on my shoes, took my file, and left for my interview.
Immediately I arrived in front of the company, I looked at the size of the building, breathed in and out then gathered up a bit of confidence before walking into the lobby.
I met the receptionist and introduced myself, “Hello I’m Ann, and I’m here for the interview”,
She politely said, “Hello, go to the first floor and wait for your turn”.
“Thank you” I left.
When I got there I met other applicants and sat down patiently for my turn. When it finally got to my turn the receptionist came up to me with a smile.
“Miss Ann it's your turn, kindly follow me”. Then I followed her to the office, she knocked twice before I heard a faint “come in”.
When I entered the interviewer was busy with his laptop so I greeted “Good Morning sir”,
“Sit down,” he replied. I took a sit, and that was when he looked up. I froze, it was him!!
